    Made my third 9-1-1 call.

Took the recycling down and took the long way back for a short 10-minute drive, and there were glass shards, like there was a collision, at two consecutive intersections.

Glass shards from a potential collision, which can flatten tires.

Why didn't you simply sweep them off the road? That's a waste of everyone's time.

Because there were a lot and I had no broom and they were at two different intersections and they were practically in a whole lane? I'm not the only one who's done it. I've read similar things from the blotter in the past.

But I guess next time I won't be considerate of other drivers... Additionally, I guess I shouldn't have reported the huge tarp that was blocking the passing lane on I-90 because I could have just moved it going by that logic.

If it was in the middle of the intersection then I can understand.

If you can move it on your own without walking in traffic then it's probably better to do so. The police aren't there to clean up the streets. (Joke intended.) If they don't need to stop traffic, then without someone to arrest or people to interview about the collision, there's not really a point to them being there. In a worst case scenario they might arrest you, the caller. Yes, that's been known to happen.

The problem is there's always the potential for a car to come from somewhere and possibly hit you, especially on the interstate.

Whoa whoa whoa! Back up! Why don't you carry a broom? It's daily life's most essential tool. How do you expect to escape the Nazgul if you don't have a broom? You better start carrying one!
