I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on November 20, and, honestly, I'm a little scared. Still not sure if we're doing it locally, where they'll just make me numb, or with some surgeon, where I'll be put under. My mom's been saying, and the dentist also said after my cleaning on Friday, that the actual removal isn't painful because you're numb, which I believe. Those of you who have had it done, did you do it locally or not? How was the experience afterward? Also, you guys can laugh all you want, but I'm having my mom in there the entire time.
I got put to sleep when I got mine taken out. I'm not gonna lie, it was painful afterwards, but there are definitely surgeries that are worse. I've had several and pain wise the wisdom teeth removal is at the bottom of the list when it came to pain. I just remember being really emotional because of the anasthesia(or however you spell it). It was pretty cool having the stitches in there, though. Be sure you have really soft things to eat. You may have to experiment with that, and see what is best for you and your pain level. But overall, you'll be fine, it's a really easy procedure. <3
I have never experienced it myself but I know people who have had teeth out and, yes it was painful, but it wasn't overwhelming death-by-pain sort of thing. You will be absolutely fine Amaury :3
whats the point of being scared of something you cant avoid? make peace with the fact that its happening, don't think abou it until the day of, and then go in there ready to kick its ass. this helps me sometimes. I understand being nervous or scared, but if theres nothing you can do about it, the sooner you get over it the better. Besides, I've had a couple friends have the same procedure and say it wasn't bad and they worried for nothing.
Turns out we're only doing the bottom ones on November 20, as those are the most important. Plus, I have a small mouth, so my bottom teeth are all crowded. Although I do have a wisdom tooth in my top left that never went back completely. Picture: Spoiler Anyway, that makes me feel a little better, as I won't be dealing with a lot of pain at once. But we will schedule another time for the tops.
I was put to sleep, which from what I hear from those who got them while they were numb, is the better way to remove wisdom teeth. Get ready for a week of pain though.
This was the first sentence I read in the OP.... Needless to say, afterwards I raised my eyebrow and read the rest. SURPRISINGLY THIS THREAD IS ABOUT WISDOM TEETH! I'MMA JUST LEAVE NOW.
I thought this was a thread about you having sex because skimming. WAY TO KILL THE JOKE. I have fine wisdom teeth.
I don't see how you could have possibly gotten sex even when skimming. There's nothing that has to do with sex here. o.O
I can understand the first part, but then when you saw "locally," I don't see how you still could have thought that.
Okay, I'm getting really nervous, so I'm just going to copy and paste my Facebook post to see what responses I get: Please, no jokes! Respond seriously. I'm nervous enough as it is, and November 20 is still a ways away. Done. See above. The after pain, surprisingly, doesn't have worried as much, mostly because I expect it. It's the operation itself. For example, because I'm out of shape, if I run for an extended period of time, the next day my legs will be sore, which I expect. While the pain's obviously not as bad as the after pain of having your wisdom teeth removed, it's still the same concept.
I've had caps on my molars as a wee child, and they put me under. Wasn't as painful as wisdom teeth, but it wasn't bad. Also had cavities that needed to be filled (same molars lol dumbarse peeps). The very first filling I had, they numbed my gums with some pinching mechanism that kind of looked like a hair curler and it hurt like hades, but didn't feel a thing afterwards. Years later I needed a few more fillings, but this time they used a numbing gel on the end of a cotton swab and it worked ridiculously well. I didn't feel jack (or jill for that matter), and all I remember afterwards was constantly exclaiming "Man I love technology and how it changes!" That was about 8 years ago, so if they use some sort of numbing procedure, I can imagine it would be a gel or they may put you under and no big dealio. You'll be fine dude, in fact, I might have to get my wisdom teeth out in the near future. My mouth will be a full set of idiots when that happens B|
