So, who's fed up with youtube?

Idk, but am I the only one that has begun to notice that everything anime related, INCLUDING the amv's that have the thing down that says "I do not own this" are getting taken out?

I mean, idk, can someone explain to me what reasoning they have for this?

 

There is no logic of YouTube... O.o Meh, I guess we're seeing the end of the age of AMV's... D8

 

Well ya, but I require logic. I mean, really, I want to know just what the problem is. I mean, what could the people have possibly done wrong to have deserved this?

It has a lot to do with copyright issues. Youtube doesn't want to be sued, so it's better safe than sorry with them, so they remove videos where copyright is problem.

This happened with A&E Intervention videos and certain music videos.

I have yet to be fed up with YouTube though since they still have a lot of cool videos and music that have yet to be taken down and probably won't be.

 

If my art teachers theory is right then we are seeing the end of anime on youtube.

But seriously if your having trouble theres something in the video editing section that will get this stuff sorted.

 

well ya, but now they are getting rid of video's where it says, specificly, that the person who made it does not own it, and they say all the stuff that releases any copyrite issues. as a matter a fact, the problem seems to be happening to some very popular amv's lately, especially to some people who you consider 'professional' when it comes to the issue

 

I guess it's because of the fact that the audio can be easily ripped from these videos using browser plugins or special sites such as vixy.net. I hate to admit it, but I kinda agree that the owners of the programs/music being used do have the right to request that your work is removed since it's composed of their work. Realize that I have had two of my AMV's removed, and I know how annoying it is, but I still have to agree with the removal for the most part.

 

Your right about the Vixy stuff, I have a friend who practicly rips everything he sees off youtube. The next day his psp is packed with whatever he saw the day before.

 

Even if it is ripped, I mean, cmon, don't you think they are taking things too far?

Plus, ALL of the sound tracks that I had on my favorites list of death note OST's (what. they make me think in a way that makes me smart. Its not like its odd <.< >.>), and I know for a fact that those weren't ripped off. No way it is possible!

Who the hell wants to rip a sh*t-sounding terribly compressed audio track that has a lower bitrate than 98 anyway?
Is there something I'm missing here, or am I just terribly intolerable when it comes to audio.

 

They're not all terrible quality, but decent quality or not, the audio is still able to be stolen, and that's really all that matters.

 

I know what you mean, man. >_>....I favorited this scene from Jumper that someone uploaded and it got removed(for...obvious reasons) but still....it bugs me....:cryinganime: nigahiga made a rant about the copyrights. Apparently How to Be Gangster and How to Be Emo were taken off.

 

That's why I go to AMV.org (or sometimes here) besides in Youtube.

Pfft, true. But you have to admit that youtube can take uploaded videos through world war two and back out again, when they get converted to FLV.

 

I don't really care because I think AMVs are stupid, and don't really like anime to begin with.

 

Just a quick FYI;
Putting a disclaimer into the description saying 'I don't own this' or similar does NOT mean they'll ignore the vid, as using a song without the artist or music group's permission is still an invasion of copyright.
Even if you say "But I bought this album" it doesn't mean you have the rights to use it for anything other than personal use/educational use.

I vote that all AMV makers learn to cite sources in a politically and legally correct format. Then Youtube can do nothing.

 

I vote that everyone leaves youtube and goes to a site that has enuf ballz to get over themselves and just leave all of the GOOD amv's alone >.>

Plus I'm gonna find out from pwillard (if he ever responds) bouts why his vids keep on dissapearen (technicly not amv's, but none the less, if u look up kingdom hearts music videos, then u should know this person)
