Mkay, two things here:

Uno: It would actually be more of Nomura's (character designer) or Kamikokuryo's (art director, costume designer for the trilogy) waifu.

Dos: Can we stop calling him Toriyama here? There's only one man who goes by Toriyama, and that's Akira Toriyama. It's confusing. I kept thinking "Wait, was XIII the return to games by Akira Toriyama?!" and was heavily disappointed.

 

Is it even legal for anyone but Akira Toriyama to have the surname "Toriyama?"

 

Absolutely not, but I'm sure he got it before the law was passed in the universe.

 

I just went from "I'm not getting this game because I don't care" to "I must pre-order this" based on one image. Wow.

I don't think you quite understand howmuch Toriyama ****ing loves Lightning.
Everytime he's asked about her he goes on and on about how incredible she is, nobody has shown as much interest in Lightning then Toriyama has.

 

Well, he's also the game's director. He'll do that. Ask Kojima about Raiden or Bis Boss some time. I'd say someone who spends time ogling Lightning enough to go from a mini skirt to armored assless chaps seriously may have a thing for her over someone who just discusses her when he's making a game for her to star in.

And he's still not Toriyama. He can't go by that name, even when referring to RPGs because Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross were kind of things.
