So there's this guy...

That I reeeeeeeeeaaallly like. His name's Payton, and he plays football and baseball. He's just an all-around, awesome guy. My volleyball coach is also the baseball coach, so he's around Payton a lot. And he pretty much thinks we'd be a good couple. I don't get extremely nervous around Payton, yet I'm still all "OMG don't look like a ****** in front of him" inside.

My senior volleyball friends have 1st period with him, and they were the ones that told I liked him. He didn't believe that I would ever like him, so the only way they could prove I liked him was if I wrote a note to him telling him that I actually liked him. Of course, my friends said he wanted the usual "check yes or no" thing at the bottom. So I wrote him the note, including the "check yes or no", and I gave it to them to give to Payton.

Well, tonight is a football torunament, and he's playing. So I'm wondering...should I talk to him tonight and play it cool and all that jazz, or just...eh, I dunno...

You get the picture: girl likes boy, but isn't sure if the boy likes her back.

 

For some reason, I feel really distrusting of your friends, I don't know why but something doesn't feel right, but I am probably being paranoid.

Regardless, there isn't really a lot you can do unless you talk to him about it and find out one way or another C:

Talk to him, even if you don't talk about your feelings you can get an idea about how he is around you.

 

I think it's okay to talk to him, just don't push an answer on the note. If he wants to answer you directly, great. If not, then don't push it.

I'd also recommend keeping your friends a bit more distanced from this. It's fine if they help you and do the whole squeal thing and the giggles, blah, blah, but in the end if it does boil down to something, they can't be in on everything.

 

Well, I'm back from the game. I yelled for Payton a lot during the game, but then when he came out of the locker room, all I could think of was, "Hi. Great game."

Uh...so, I'm lame. But that's one of the very few times I've actually gone blank around him. Usually, I say too much.

Nope, not Monday. I'm working concession with him tomorrow at 2 more tournament games.

Dave, my coach, wants the volleyball and baseball players working concession, and I'm pretty excited because I have the same shift as Payton.

And I've thought about writing him a song, but I'm afraid it might scare him off. When I liked my ex, I wrote him a song, and look how that ended. :/

Just talk to him about it, and don't write anymore notes asking him to check a box. I don't think songs or letters are a good idea for your situation.
I would just talk to him and find out if the feelings are mutual, but don't make it seem like you are being pushy. And obviously flirting is good, and just see where it goes.

 

Well my problem was solved and I hope yours will. But like the others have said take one step at a time and don't go too fast or he'll get ascared.

 

You're starting off kind of slow. In my opinion, it should stay slow. Let this progress naturally. I know this is kind of vague, but right now is probably where you want to be. From what I'm reading so far of your posts, you want something that will last, right? Something like love has to grow; a plant like this can't be forced into growing, or else the plant will be killed. Just take your time with this guy, and things will gradually open up more and more with him.

 

Well, I ****ing hate today.

He decided to tell my friends to tell me that he's talking to someone. He ****ing lead me on just like any other guy I've liked. I swear, I guess every guy at my school is a ****ing wuss or something...
