So there's this girl in the new Batman series

Harper Row. Purple hair, that nose ring thing that goes on bulls, etc. Has a gay brother named Cullen, hinted to be gay as well but not confirmed for her. Rumor is that she'll be the next Robin or something similar. Been making a couple of appearances here and there in Batman. Anyway, in today's issue, as she goes off to do secret stuff, she downloads a few episodes of her brother's favorite show onto his computer to keep him busy for the night. The show? Supernatural. His response? "Shirtless Winchesters?" I approve of these two, Scott Snyder. I approve.

 

I thought this thread was going to be making fun of Claw or me until I read the whole thing.

She sounds like someone I'd like, and I hate that. I'm trying to stay pissed at DC for killing off Damian, whose murder they executed terribly. 'Honorable death' my arse, Morrison. Grr, New 52 sucks! I will not buy no matter what!

One day, I'm going to write 95 Theses on the Utter Bullshit which DC Comics Has Subjected Its Readers To. I'll nail it to the doors of every comic book store in America, and then everyone will know of their villainy. I have a few ideas already;

1. they have gotten rid of numerous popular female characters, Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown -- for no conceivable reason than to stifle their female audience, and rid them of role models.
2. they have retconned 90% of Tim Drake's backstory, including his time as Robin III.
3. they have erased Ted Kord from the DCU, thereby erasing Booster Gold's character development as well.
4. they have killed too many characters for the sake of Bruce Wayne's character development (cite: Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, etc.); they have refused their other characters the proper respect they deserve (if you ain't Batman, you don't matter).
5. they have allowed the likes of Rob Liefeld to draw for them, whose sense of human anatomy is sorely lacking.

I could go on, and on, and on...

I defend the death of Damian. It's been planned since before the New 52 (honestly, Batman Inc. doesn't even belong in the New 52. The only way it connects to it is updated costume) and he was only meant to stay for a few issues. Now, the way that he died is what I have a problem with. It was too...underwhelming at the end and too rushed. Granted, now that I reread the series, I see plenty of foreshadowing, but the climax was too quick.

1. Well, DC is famous for "Women in Refrigerators." But yes, I agree.
2. NOT JUST THAT, BUT HE IS HORRIBLY WRITTEN IN THE ONE SERIES THAT HE'S A MAIN PART OF. After reading the Red Robin series and going straight to THIS poor excuse of Tim Drake, it's like...it's just horrible.
3. Agreed. I was hoping that he would have been shown in flashbacks as a hero during the 5 year time skip, but apparently not.
4. Jason Todd's death was great as long as he's revived. Though, I do agree with you.
