One of their's Act 1's first few pages, you mean.
You can't judge it as annoying without reading it.

There's a good deal of literary devices, detail, undertones, character flesh out, etc that actually does make them partially vital or integral. It should really depend on how committed you are to the genre you read and other people's reviews of the book.

I have read it to a certain point, and I have a tab open. This is where I am.

The premise has failed to hold my interest. I strongly dislike the style.

Well, that isn't even halfway into the Act.

I would at least give it a go until the end of Act 1 before giving it up.
I at least do that with a few books that don't interest me~

Still, this is before other characters are even introduced, if I recall.
The premise fluctuates, and the style does as well. However, judging it in its "Prologue" not only prevents you from seeing or understanding what it's really about, but it also leaves you without seeing Hussie's capabilities.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that any man in possession of a good fortune must also be in want of a wife.

    How is that boring? >:L

I haven't given up, that is why I still have the tab open.

I am not set against reading it, but it has definitely failed to draw me in. Compare it with Questionable Content, in which I read two hundred comics in a day. Homestuck fails to appeal to me as is, and that is not easily disputed.

    First questionable content <33333333.

Second, so, QC had a quicker start. It is also a comparatively short slice of life comic that does not have to explain a mythology.

    Also, keep reading.

    You'll adjust eventually.

Still, just think about how long this would take, even with Photoshop or some other program specifically for animating.
Appreciate the effort that was put into this, even if you don't enjoy the plot and such.

Yeah, big as a fan of QC I am, the first few comics were quite poorly drawn, haha. And the art has gone in directions I haven't always liked. But Jeph grows and switches it up as an artist. Dunno if it's the same deal with Homestuck, but with QC, if you don't like the way the art looks, chances are it'll be different in about a month.

    Homestuck isn't as major.
It gets smoother, more colorful, more creative, more unique.

Well, Homestuck is mostly rendered in a symbolic manner.

But there is a professional team of artists (and musicians) who compose assets for the flashes, which are usually really stunning.
    Especially the recent stuff. <3

"However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters."

I never said I found it dull, just that others do.
