Meh. I started Homestuck a few days ago, now on Act 3. I'm pretty much in the same boat except I started it because too many people were postings spoilers and references, so it got tiresome.

    Understandable.

I have school projects to do, so any further acts will have to wait for a bit.

I think I read 25 pages of it, got bored of it, and was liek 'y this so popular?'

Meh. To each his own, I guess.

Can I flag the title as inappropriate, cause I thought of something totally inappropriate?

Actually, just flag me as inappropriate.

    Plums: Do the Impossible :'D

It takes a few hundred to get good.
Personally I recommend the summaries, but like you said to each his own. xD

A few hundred too many. Why would I keep reading something that was boring, let alone for a few hundred pages?

    To let the story unfold?
That's how it is with some of the books i've read too. Keep in mind though that Homestuck has maybe three lines of dialogue per page (except for the pesterchum sequences and such) and the animated sequences.

Also, like Plums said, there are always just the summaries.

The first part, while dull, explains the main game mechanics.
Actually, there are summaries of the first three acts on the MSPA Wiki, so you could actually just skip to Act IV where, imo, the story kicks in completely.
    not to mention dem flashes

Reading the summaries is somewhat cheating though.
Plus getting through the first three Acts is what makes everything worthwhile afterwards I reckon, since you get more attached to the characters and whatnot.
It's like having an exam on a certain book, and you just end up reading the summary of said book. Naturally you'll end up sucking at the exam and you probably won't even like the story.

    Act 1 was great ;A;
John just being an idiot in his room.
Honestly, though, I have convinced multiple people to read Homestuck. They all disliked the first act. They got to Act 3. They are now addicted.

So uh, at least read the summaries, before you bash it based on the intro.
Don't judge a webcomic by its cover.

I still can't swallow it. Many books do not even get to a few hundred pages, so I can't enjoy anything that takes so long to pick up.

    Really...?

So far I quite enjoy it.
Act 1 was a nice example of the humor that comes with teenagers these days~

Meh. I feel the humor in Act 1 is less, uh, involved?
You know, just lame puns and callback jokes to old adventures.

I mainly like it now that I've read the archives twice, as I really appreciate that it could be so simple before.

Allow me to remind you that the first hundred or so pages of Pride and Prejudice, the Lord of the Rings, and Wuthering Heights are also fairly dull, yet these are some of the best selling and most well-loved books of all time. Don't judge a literature by the first 100 pages.

I'll admit, the references to other MS Adventures got dull but the rest was farily enjoyable.

The music was quite good too but hrnnnnnnnngh dat animation!~

There is a major difference between a famous literary work that is a bit boring and an interactive webcomic that is annoying. One of them is visual and aesthetically unpleasing, and the other is a famous literary work.
