So Nintendo is Releasing a New Console in 2012

Well I probably wont be getting it since I don't even use the WII I have now.

 

Blergh, that's my thoughts on it. The Wii felt like crap to me. It was like there was barely any interest in it. Moreover, while it does have some nice games, the majority are just pretty mainstream stuff, which don't really please in the long run.

I feel it's far too soon to release a new console. Honestly, if every ten years, they're gonna release a new console, then my wallet, nor my games will be happy. BC is always a general issue. Plus, not everyone buys their games/consoles at launch.

This constant console creation is really straining. There's no way we can keep up with everything.

I agree with this. I think the console length times have increased, but if Nintendo are doing this then it won't have increased far enough since it still feels like I only got my PS3 the other day to me even though I've had it for a few years.
Besides, I usually wait like a year before I even think about getting a new console when they come out.

 

...I just want my controlller back.

Same. The wii had some good games, but there weren't enough great games to keep my attention like the ps3 has. I'm all for innovation but I'd like to have the option for a controller - the wii remote did get a bit boring after a while when playing solo. It's great for party games, but that's it really.

That, and Nintendo need some great 3rd party games to support them.

The Wii hasn't had a particularly good run in terms of traditional games. We've got a fair few Mario games and Zelda, but not so much of the more obscure stuff. If this new console means that Nintendo will become more conventional, I'm for it.

A new Nintendo console!!!

I do hope that it is aimed towards more of Nintendo's hardcore fan base this time around but only time will tell.

Also, I am planning on getting a PS3 this summer...but if Sony is gonna release a new system around 2014...I feel like...idk...should I wait? I want it for FF XIII and Versus XIII and possibly KH3.

oh well, I am really pumped for E3 now xD

 

My god, I hate touch screens.
I still plan on keeping a Wii. I do like that system, while it's not as "hardcore" as the other systems, I still find it enjoying.
But I may invest on this depending on the end results.

Here's hoping for backwards compatibility (What am I saying, this isn't Sony)

 

Awesome on Nintendo's part, stepping up and releasing it's new console. It has been quite awhile since the Wii first launched. Grr I need E3 to roll around I want to see how this new console will look. :D

 

I never got the Wii. That said I am definitely getting this. Also my friends an I have come to the conclusion that the controller might resemble an iPad.

 

I probably won't be buying it unless they make some good games for it... and they had better make this one HD compatible...

 

Imma get this. Have all three Playstations, might as well waste my not-there money on something else. They promised better graphics though, so I'm looking forward to that.

 

Good news - Nintendo will stick with buttons and a d-pad.

Only a month or so till they announce it. Can't really say I'm excited but Project Cafe certainly has caught my interest.
