Ended up having to buy a new TV, which at least I managed to get a decent deal at walmart, with a 40" Samsung at $277.99, with the original price at $549.00.

I knew the tv wasn't going to last forever, especially since it was one of those third-party, kind-of-cheapo tvs which I got on sale on black friday two years ago at Target, but this wouldn't have hurt so much if I had at least 100 more dollars to spend. Now I gotta split to cost between my checking and savings account, and take another 10 months to get my savings back up to what it was. Though it was about $20 more because I bought the 3-year protection plan, so in case something like this happens again I can take it in and have it looked at instead of paying $50 for a random tv repair guy to come in and then be told to get a new tv anyways.

Goodwill is now going to get a new tv soon.

It hurts when you see that amount of cash go away though.

Sorry, it always sucks when stuff breaks down. I've honestly never had a TV quit on me outright I don't think, and I have a small collection of... Pretty old ones to boot, lol.
What is wrong with it exactly? I'm not sure Goodwill will take it if it's not turning on :V

no it's turning on, the problem is about 1/3 of the screen, right down the middle, a horizontal bar that darkens the effected area will appear and start flickering like crazy for around 8-20 minutes, and sometimes go away and then it always comes back. I've checked online for what the issues might be, though nothing was exactly what I had. The biggest thing that people said was it could be the power connection, so I checked that, but nothing fixed it, so apparently there's a problem with the bulbs in the tv. It's not going to get any better, so I decided it was best to take the deals while I could.

It just sucks how I spent a paycheck and a half to get it. I'm never going to get back up to $1300 to spend with. Now I'm down to $900 again
