To me, God existing seems to be wishful thinking. Christianity can be good, it can give people hope and peace, so I have no problem at all with people who believe in God, but I don't think this superbeing with magical powers could actually exist.
If he did, I wouldn't want him interfering with my life or the lives of our race, because I'd prefer independence. And I wouldn't want him watching or judging me or others either. We don't need him, we can get by fine in life without a god, but we could do with peaceful religions like Christianity, so it's good that some people think he's real.

I wouldn't care either way, but I wouldn't want him involved in my life.

Why wouldn't you want him involved in your life?

Who would want something controlling like God in your life? Preaching, smiting, I'd get sick of the guy within a week.

Technically it's impossible for him to not in your life, if he does exist right now. He created the universe, so essentially the universe, physics gravity, everything is him. Even us.

I like to think this "God" is more of a presence or force, not an actual being in some different level of understanding.

All those bad things that happened wasn't because of God. That was the devils work.

If god created the universe then he created the devil, therefore anything the devil does is gods fault. Just as anything we do is his fault. If god exists, he/she is the source of all good as well as all evil as they are the source of everything. Except themselves, as you can't be the source of yourself, but that is just one of the many contradictions.

    Why do so many
    people blame God?

It's not his fault. Humans did this. Sin did this. It's not God's fault.

    Take some damn responsibility. D:

And yes. Though only in a better world.

It helps me move forward when I don't have hope.

Did you not read my post? As the source of all god is responsible for all. He created the universe, the earth, the snake, the tree and Adam and Eve. He knew that they would give in to temptation and he let them go ahead anyway. Then he expelled them from the Garden and here we are today. Sin is gods fault, as is the devil.

God gave us free will for a reason. It's not his fault that we don't know how to use it half of the time. Adam and Eve had a CHOICE. Satan has his own mind, thoughts and actions.

Yes, he created this all but for who? Us. And we've done this with it.

Are you saying he should have never created this? Or just the bad things?

I'm saying that god was capable of seeing everything that was going to happen and yet created us the way he did anyway. He also had the ability to stop every evil act in history and yet didn't. Gross negligence is evil.

He did have the power to stop and change everything.

However, what would that make us? Controlled little puppets?

God wants us to choose to follow, defend, love and worship him. Not be controlled to.

And to merely prevent every evil act humans have done in the world would be like a free ticket into Paradise. Regardless of a person's true nature.

    What would be the point?

That'd be like Satan (whom Hell was originally created for) being allowed back through the gates of Heaven.

The good of Heart wouldn't truly be rewarded at all. :/

    Is that fair?

Is that it fair that people are able to commit evil acts in the first place? The only reason humans are capable of evil is because god gave us the potential to commit evil.

But yeah, from what I have seen in the Old Testament (which I see as being a much more reliable indicator of what god is truly like even if many Christians virtually ignore it) I would rather not have a god that is jealous, violent and vengeful. As well as sexist, racist and homophobic =/

Well, I wouldn't want to be a puppet. I feel accomplished when I resist temptation.

I agree with the second part, though I don't think I truly believe in the Bible(missing gospels, misinterpretations/translations).

Anywho, everyone has their own opinions...

    Win. Nothing can possibly contradict this. We have free will. God gave it to us because it's better than living in a perfect world without knowing what evil is. We are not truly good unless we know what evil is and if we are tempted to do it. Us humans screwed things up. I personally wish I could thank Adam and Eve.....Grr...Jayn stole everything I wanted to say. ; ;
God gives potential because humans deserve it. We need it. It's what makes us special.

Now you've raised a very good question.

The fact that you wouldn't want God to be there because of what he's caused is reasonable. But the reason why he has caused these things is even more reasonable:

God created us. God sent his one and only son to teach us about him and we killed him on a wooden cross. Jesus came back, and showed us the power of him. People don't understand the incredibility of God, and that they should follow what he says. People sin, and because they sin he punishes us. The punishment, is the things that he has caused. But there are also things that have happened (such as the atmosphere whatever and world hunger, etc.) that are our fault. He doesn't do anything to show us that we can't do things on our own. We need God's help in order to do things, for he has created life itself.

So, all in all, I would want him to be there. To guide me and show me what is right.

Scientists arent confident. Ask them yourself, they only beleive it because nobody can come up with a better explanation. Essentially, its right until proven wrong, even if it hasnt been proven right.
