The only thing I want to watch again is Electro's introduction. Over and over. It's seriously one of the best Spidey moments on film, alongside the final battle in Spidey 1 against Green Goblin (Peter's retort to Norman about the father thing OOOH), the end-film web swings, any scene Doc Ock is in, and Sandman's birth.

I think I already said this but her death scene was done terribly. The battle against Goblin was cool and I had feel for her AFTER the death but holy hell the over-editing, overdramatization, effects, music, etc. made it feel so artificial.

I agree. Kinda. I really didn't like the slowmo fall, had it not been for that the death would have been much more impactful emotionally imo. It felt like it went on forever especially when you know it's coming. It's just like "alright. get on with it." I still liked it just for what it was and because I liked Gwen so much, I just wish it had been done better.
Though I say that because when I saw it there was a kid who literally talked through the whole thing, and I didn't feel like I was 100% there because of it.

It always makes me chuckle when people say this

like it's not that hard actually there are techniques

Filming (or entertainment in general) isn't just OK HERE'S THE PLOT HERE'S THE ACTORS HERE'S THE MUSIC HERE'S THE SET & COSTUME DESIGN LET'S SMOOSH IT ALL TOGETHER AND GET THE CLUSTERFUCK ON CAMERA

    People study this

There are generally accepted methods for creating something that is at the absolute very least physically watchable

and clearly you cannot reach every person emotionally in the same way but something that provokes the desired reaction can probably be considered objectively good

I AM PUMPING UP MY ENEMY AS WE SPEAK

Also if we're talking about shit we can't wait to watch again: Peter's argument with/consolation Aunt May & Harry pleading with Max to save him. I. I almost cried. Twice. I NEVER CRY. I DIDN'T CRY FOR KAMINA OR THE COMPANION CUBE.

Color me shocked (it's the blue crayon.) The only likable performances for me were Emma Stone as Gwen, and Spidey trying to help out Max when he first becomes Electro. Personal preference of course.

dude Harry was so painfully fucking desperate and the LOOK. on Dillon's face. Like. Oh my god. After everything that's happened. All the lies I've been told. Somebody actually needs me. I could matter in somebody's life. Right now.

Although I was kinda meh about Emma so I guess it really is just different strokes haha

(Also +2 for the creative pun, -1 for putting your period on the inside of the parentheses)

This is one aspect of the film I didn't particularly care for, at all. I am tired of supporting characters' deaths fueling the actions of heroes. They did not have to adhere to what happened in 616 canon continuity. I would find the franchise redeemable however if Gwen Stacy was brought back as a Carnage Symbiote clone as in the Ultimate universe. That was rad.

True dat, different strokes. I really like DeHaan, but NOTHING he did in ASM2 felt anywhere near real to me. He just felt like an unlikable prick who wanted something and got pissy when he couldn't get it. I didn't sympathize.

    (blame grammar classes)

I mean think about where he's coming from. His dad's a dick who left him a den of starving wolves and a fatal hereditary disease in his will, he's had just enough time away from his friends to think too much (Trust me you come to some fucked-up conclusions when you get enough time alone), and he's pretty much been socially stunted since birth so making friends doesn't come easy, much less keeping them. Considering all that, I'm impressed he hung in there and acted rational for as long as he did. I honestly was not expecting him to reach out to Peter when he was about to leave in their first scene together. The disconnect between Parker and Spider-man in his mind also helped push him over, especially when they both rebuffed him. Hell, first series Harry acted a lot more childish, lording MJ over Peter like a trophy and starting fights for no reason.

Eh, I liked James Franco as Harry a lot more. I get that DeHaan Harry has a fucked up life, but nothing he did, for me, felt like what person would do? I ESPECIALLY found it really dumb when he went after Gwen. I dunno, agree to disagree I guess :P

See I didn't mention him as Goblin. Him as Goblin sucked. Didn't like any part of it, felt shoehorned in. But I like his Harry because he has every reason to be obstinate and snide, unlike Franco's Harry which was (for the sake of argument) better acted, yet adrift in the plot. ASM Harry is posturing so the suits don't eat him alive. And when he gets frustrated with his refusals from Parker, well, he's dying! What other options does he have?

I'm at least glad you also disliked his Goblin. Ugh the laugh, but anyway. I don't fault DeHaan so much; I just disliked Harry in that world in general I think (as well as...well, that film's world.)

You'll be the first person I hear (err, read) say that. It felt so wimpy, especially compared to DaFoe's maniacal cackle.

Spider man is better now (doing jokes and stuff), but the movies are worse than what they were in the past, not only that the super hero genre is way better now, so Spider man needs not only to be better than the previous spider man titles, but akin to Avengers/Batman and such. They raised the bar.
