(I'm a lurker. Wich is probably why you've never heard of me before)
I love KH1 &2, but even on proud mode things just seem kind of easy.

Sooooo I was thinking about buying Final Fantasy.. since I've never played it before... But I figured I should ask the fans before I do.

I'm not really worried about not liking the game, but I know there's like, at least ten or eleven of them out, and I don't wanna like, buy FFX and the story be continued from the last nine games and I'm just like "O.o what is this?! I don't know what they're talking about..!!"

So this is my question to you. Do I need to buy the earliest game I can find Or where should I start when I purchase the game? Would that be easier in terms of understanding the game? And if not, which one, in your opinion, is the most action-packed, or your favorite, etc.

I greatly appreciate any and all help!! =D

ALrite, dude, take my advice. Buy Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, and X. Don't buy X-2, and if you are into polotics, then XII

Trust me. It isn't like they are all continuations of eachother, but instead, they have similure themes. Such as their worlds are similure, but they each have different story lines. You don't need to play FF VIII in order to understand Final fantasy X, because final fantasy XIII and X are two different things.

    Trust me. Take my advice

And also after playen VII, play dirage of cerberous

You should get Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy X or Final Fantasy VI. They are really good games but its going to be hard for you to find a FFVII thats cheap. I advise FFX though since it was my first FF and it got me into the series. My personal favorite though is FFV because of the humor

None of the games are related, so you can just randomly start FFX and you'll be just fine. As long as you don't do one that is specifically a sequel (Like X-2 is a sequel of X). And that one is good, by the way. But if you're just going to get one, get VII. Even though the graffics are bad, the game is totally awesome.

xD you don't need to worry about the order that you get them in, there is no real sense of the games linking with each other (except for X and X2)

Whilst I adore all of the series <3 I would suggest that if you have never played any FF game before to do what others have suggested and start with FFX, it will break you into the series nicely. I know a lot of people who had never played any of the series before that game came out. It is a good place to start.

Nice plot, beautiful graphics and generally a lot of fun. It is basic without being simple but complex enough to require some thought.

I think you will like it.

Also Blitzball <3 omfg I love that game <3 (it is a mini game withing FFX).

Let us know what you decide ^^

True about FFVII. I kept finding ones on ebay for like $60, $70, $80, and even $200! I was lucky enough to get mine for $40 including S&H. But yeah, I'd go with VII if you can find it. I'd reccomend others, but that's the only one I've played, besides Tactics for PS1, which I didn't like at all.

Wow, thanks, guys! You've definitely helped a lot.
I think after almost everyone recommended X and VII that I will try to find those two first. (Maybe I'll get Dirge of Cerberus after my birthday, that one's been on my list for a while.)

Perhaps the local Hastings will have VII cheap! but idk, When I bought KH2 used it was a couple bucks more expensive than when I bought it new. =/ I'll check it out!

Thanks so much again! I'll let you know how it goes! =D

Well, I don't think they'll have VII, since they everyone's stopped selling PS1 games a while ago. Unless they have the PC version, you might have to get buy it online.

I was exactly like you before I played FFXII (And it is awesome in my opinion!) For the PS2 ones, I woud recommend FFX or FFXII and if you have a PSP, Crisis Core FFVII (I got it Friday, awesome). For Playstation, I recommend FFVII, VIII, and IX (I have that one)

None of them are related, so you can start with which ever one you like. My favorites are FF VI, VII, VIII, IX, X. I didn't like X-2 and XII

Each Final Fantasy has different story line, deff characters, etc. So it doesn't matter which one you start with.

I'm kind of in the same position as you. I'm not big on the Final Fantasy series, but I'd like to try it.

Well, if you like extensive job systems and you have a Gameboy, I'd definitely recommend Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. No one ever seems to mention this game, but it is a work of art. The character designs are great, and it's just an overall fun game to play when you want to kill time.

Final Fantasy III is a nice play too, even though it's hard for me. (Yes, I suck at video games) Ignus is by far the greatest character ever, but if you stop playing this game for a while and then pick it back up, it might be difficult to remember what's going on and where you're going.

I have to say, out of the very few games I've played, Final Fantasy X is one of the best. The graphics are beautiful, and the game isn't too difficult (until you get to the Seymour fight I'm stuck at). The story is just... beyond words.

If you are buying any FF7 games, do not, I repeat, DO NOT BUY DIRGE OF CERBERUS!!! I am a huge Vicent fan, but please don't buy it. BTW buying Crisis Core and FF7; you must buy them before seeing the movie Advent Children.

all the games are standalone games meaning they dont' rely on the previous games for storyline. so there's really no order to play them except FFX and FFX-2. you probably wont' be able to get any of them that were on Playstation 1 but DO buy Final Fantasy X.
