    THANK YOU.

Anyways depression is a mental disease and has to be diagnosed. It's not something how everyone says it is like "I'm depressed I'm emo blah blah".
There is a difference with being sad for awhile and being clinically depressed. Do you self harm? Are you suicidal? I know people who have been put into hospitals, close friends. I know this is the spamzone but things like this really annoy me.
And as for fitting yourself into a stereotype, why would you want to be like everyone else in said stereotype?

You're not emo. Yu-gi-oh is too mainstream for emo people.

For a long time I bought into that whole emo thing, labeled myself as it and actually got happy when people labeled me as it. But after a while I just started to question why I should limit myself to something like that. Sure, having a label like that has its plus sides--it's a form of identification for many, and it gives you, at times, a certain group to fall in with, and there's nothing wrong with choosing that. But in my personal experience it's a lot more freeing to just do what you want and not worry about what people label it as. If emo is what you like then there's nothing wrong with that.

I sometimes have people call me emo, but really, to me, I just like the fashions. I dress very gothic-y/emo-y, although like I said I am starting to branch out a bit, but I myself don't label myself as emo. I don't label myself at all, really. It's everyone else who insists that I'm an emo.
You all know I'm like the happiest person EVAR so I have no idea where this **** even comes from.

Well it's human nature to categorize things and people like that, you can't stop them from doing it. But if the person is silly enough to allow that to affect how they interact with you (or whether they do at all), then they're not really worth your time, imo.

I just don't think you should pigeonhole YOURSELF into that stereotype--it's fine to use it to define your style or whatever, but I've seen so many people completely change themselves and play the 'emo' part when it just wasn't who they were. Just because you dress one way doesn't mean you have to act one way, and you shouldn't try to. c:
(not saying you do, haha. Just in general)

tl;dr: do what you want, dress how you want, and if someone judges you for being yourself then it's no **** on your shoes, if you're happy and not hurting yourself or others that's all that matters.

    I agree with this.
I don't want to use myself as an example as much but I don't like fitting into a lot of stereotypes. So skip past if you don't care:
This year I've been called a hipster, a pothead, and "popular". In the past I've been called emo and scene when I was going through that dark clothing phase in middle school, preppy in like earlier middle school, and probably more.
Truth is though I don't think I fit or have fit any of these.
For one, I don't think I'm a hipster because I wear whatever I want and don't lean toward any one style really. Although I don't think this is offensive. Pothead insults me a little because even though I've obviously smoked I don't do it a lot and I have never even paid for it so I don't want to be labeled with it because it's a waste of time and money for the most part. And I might have friends but being "popular" is a stupid achievement to me. I don't view myself as such because I think quality of friends is more important than quantity of friends in the long run.

To say anyone is conforming to a whole group is insulting to me. I'm not like saying "hey rebellion!" but aiming to be part of something instead of aiming to be unique is just plain dumb. Pardon if I'm being ignorant.

    LOL

Man, this reminds me of the time my mom seriously asked me if I was emo... It just came out of nowhere. So I walk in into the kitchen (where all women belong. lol jk), and I walk past minding my own business and she throws me the question. I was all "Seriously? Lol". Made me laugh.
