So I'm applying to a ton of places right now

And it's becoming a little difficult, since a lot of the positions are manager positions, and I'm not applying for those. So far I've done Sprouts, Pets Mart, Best Buy, Gamestop, Palladium (it's a movie theater/bowling alley; basically a giant Brunswick Zone XL plus some), Khols, Doing Kroger, possibly Home Depot, going to do Walmart, and whatever else we find today. I'm trying all over without doing food, but I might use up all the places and have to do some kind of food business. I'm not looking forward to that.

And that concludes the last 24 hours in my KHV diary.

Job hunting sucks for this generation, not only are there absolutely no jobs available, but you can't really apply in the store anymore, they make you go apply online. Every single one of those online applications has a 200 question survey that you HAVE to complete to submit your application. They won't even look at your application if you don't score basically perfectly on the ridiculously easy questions (most of which are the same question, but re-worded). And to make things worse, the system won't even submit your application if you score under like 90%.[DOUBLEPOST=1374948268][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you're lucky it makes you hate every person to ever exist, if you're unlucky it makes you able to put up with ridiculous amounts of BS without losing your smile. IE dead on the inside.

 

yeah, but it's a good thing I'm able to hold a fake smile. The whole time I was in California I wanted to freak out at people, but the whole time it was just me holding a smile and saying nice things. The only reason I don't want to work in food is because I just got back from working with food, and a restaurant would be a lot different.

I'm personally hoping I get gamestop, because it's the kind of area I would enjoy, it's filled with games, and it's the type of work I want to go in.

A piece of advice: even if you apply online, go to the store and ask to talk to a manger (or whoever handles hiring) and hand in a supplemental resume. I have a fair say in the hiring where I work, and though we're a smaller place and you fill out the applications in person, we get a fair amount of them. The ones that stand out are the people who follow up.
