I've been hearing that gamestop had hard to get games at a marked up price so I decided to go check it out and there and behold they were there. Instead of buying them I asked if they would hold onto them for a couple days because I also decided to renew my pro power thing so I could get that 2 for 1 coupon. When the manager went to lock up the games they said they would save for me, I saw another copy of the said games in that little cabinet of theirs. I had to wait until I left the store before I started laughing.

So should I take the bait and buy these games or should I invest my money into something else?
Said games are Xenoblade and the Metroid Prime trilogy.

Haven't really played a metroid game before, I always hear mixed things about it.
Heard Xenoblade was pretty good, that's why I considered it in the first place.

You went to Gamestop? Do you not have any smaller game stores where you live?

I live in nowhere Kansas, the only stores that sell used games around my area is gamestop and hastings. The only reason why I even bother with gamestop is because I have had my power up thing with them and its close by where I work. I kind of wish there were more of a local kind of store that sold games, but there aren't. =/

I went to Gamstop a while back to reserve my copy of 1.5. Luckily, the guy didn't even seem like a dick like so any people have said the employees to be. There was a point where he asked if I'd like to reserve an Xbox One, but before I could answer, he just burst out laughing, knowing I wouldn't.

You poor thing. Local stores are the best. I got Dark Souls for five bucks the other day from mine. I only ever use Gamestop because they give me more cash for my games while my local store gives me more trade-in credit. If you ever get a chance to move elsewhere (From Nowhere, LOL), take it and run.

Yeah, I either have to bite the bullet or I have to get lucky online which varies with me.

From my experience with gamestop it's not the people, its the company itself that is bad.

I have yet to go through a bad experience at GameStop. Probably the closest that such a thing happened with me was when I requested a new copy of Uncharted 2 rather than a used copy. The employee asked why I didn't want it used, and I explained that it was because it was a GOTY edition, meaning I wouldn't get the GOTY perks with a used copy.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is actually a rare as hell game. Check eBay.

Xenoblade, GameStop SHOULD have lowered the price from $90 so it's probably actually worth it now.

Short answer- yes. These games are rarities- Metroid Prime Trilogy being only one print.[DOUBLEPOST=1378235762][/DOUBLEPOST]

Don't start... This will circle around and not be fun.

Xenoblade Chronicles I'm guessing the one you're getting for the Wii right? That game is about that life if you don't take the bait you might as well just quit.

As for Metroid I haven't played it so hard to say

I've never had a decidedly bad experience with Gamestop either. In fact, one of my most recent Gamestop experience was quite good. I've just never had any experiences that were as good as the local shop I go to.

I'm set on getting xenoblade but still not sure on metroid.
Though I might just pick it up since its apparently rare.
Meh, they said they would hold on to it for a couple days so I still have a little time to decide.

I actually haven't really had bad experiences with gamestops before. I mean, some of their prices are a little crazy at times, but no more crazy than something you'll find on something like amazon, ebay, or even craigslist sometimes. I was checking around for where I could get Dragon Quest VIII for the cheapest price, and Gamestop had it for $9.99 while amazon for the cheapest was selling it for something like $14(with shipping).
