Like the idea, hate the colors and the size. The green and purple look ridiculously out of place and just aren't very nice shades. Also, I honestly think it's difficult to make any size under 375px look good with a height over 100px. It just ends up looking too square for my tastes. It looks kind of flat too, some dodging + burning might fix that. Try grayscaling it too, and experiment with your brushes more; this smudge style is very common, both in your works and in a lot of the other people who use Gimp.
