Okay, enough's enough from everyone. Respect each other's opinions, don't be asses to each other; I don't care who you are or if you think it's funny because it's in the spam zone, but at least act mature.
It would be really stupid to start some kind of flamewar in a thread about bullying.

Though you must admit, it would be pretty funny in hindsight a few years later. Doesn't change that it would be bad though. Let's hope this calms down soon.

This movie was so hilariously bad.
Cyberbullying is the reason why people under the age of 18 should not be allowed on the internet. Kids tend to overreact to stupid ****, and don't realize that here on the internet unlike in real life where it tends to be almost impossible to ignore someone who can physically interact with you, there are options to get rid of the "bully" that take the form of the "IGNORE" button or the big X on the top right of your screen.
So I simply cannot take cyberbullying seriously, I can't believe there are people on this planet who will actually cry themselves to sleep after seeing this on an internet board
    [IMG]
And I know "huur duur ppl react differently" and I understand that
But unless you can give me a logical reason as to why you react that way then I'm just gonna blame it on you being an idiot.

Isn't there more to cyber bullying than being insulted online? I mean...people get websites dedicated to insulting them or all of their private convos made public, etc.

I have accidentally been involved in cyberbullying before, me being the bully. Mostly because I used to think that everyone knew I was joking whenever I say stuff like that (lol I found out that people thought I was serious with my premium awards I made a thread about in the premium section lolol). Everyone react differently, you never know where you have most people, so a lot of time it's a good idea to get to know who they are before you actually joke around with them for a bit.

Just watched this movie. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, even with all the forced drama and the
    almost laughable suicide attempt
. Gives a good message in the end I suppose.

Perhaps being bullied in real life, escaping to the internet, and then finding out that the people who bully you in real life have access to the internet and can bully you there too. You then get paranoid and start to take every little thing seriously because you don't know who is who and you don't know who knows who you are. For example, anyone could be the Nigel Stinson who soft bullied (basically bullying that looks like friendliness to anyone besides the victim) me all through high school. As a result, any insult directed at me might be coming from him, and I would never know if it was him or just someone joking around and expecting a laugh out of me.

Also, some cyberbullying can turn into one of these:

The responsibility is the kid's. A few things are wrong with that scenario. First, an aversion to being called a ***. You can blame it on the culture all you want, but that is the real problem here in my eyes. That he was offended. Second, his concern about others' opinions. If you do not want them to judge you for something, don't show it to them. Thirdly, how he dealt with the problem. Purely emotional or psychological turmoil lead him to suicide? I can't see it. He made the choice himself. Control was in his hands, and he did with it what he wanted to do with it. His life was in his own emotional hands, not the bullies'.

    Also somewhat serious.

You are not that 13 year old kid. You cannot know what he is feeling. You cannot know his inner workings.

And you made me repeat myself. Shame on you. :/

Yes he has the initial responsibility for posting the picture in the first place but responsibility also lands with the anonymous posters. They didn't have to post at all. Yet they chose to do so with malice and aggression, even if it is perceived on the 13 year old's part.

I will post no more on this subject as it's rather touchy for me in the first place and people are obviously missing a very obvious point no matter how often I point it out to them.

This is the dumbest **** I've ever heard.
If I'm on the INTERNET a place that everyone and anyone all over the planet Earth has access to, I HIGHLY doubt every person who calls me a ****** is Nigel Thornberry Stinson from school. That wouldn't make any sense.
Also Anonymous is just a stupid group of "lol we r legion" internet freedom fighters.

You're right, it doesn't make sense. However, it does make sense that anyone COULD be him, even if EVERYONE isn't him. I don't know who wants me to kill myself, and thus I consider anything aggressive to be intentionally insulting. I wouldn't expect you or anyone else to understand that though. You're just like all the billions sheeple around the world.

You're not helping your arguement when you admit that...
    A) It makes no sense
    B) It's extremely uncommon
The two go hand in hand. It's uncommon because it makes no sense and the thought process of a rational human being would think "Hey wait a second, this is ****ing stupid".
You can't give me an arguement that makes sense because as you said yourself the thought process DOES make no sense. So if the thought process makes no sense AND it's fairly uncommon, why should I have to accomodate for the 12 people on the planet who don't make any sense?
But apparently people who make sense are considered sheep nowadays.

It's like the Cyberbullies vs. the Cyberbullied in here.
Of course with the addition of the cyberbystanderswhoseesthebullyingbutdoesnothing.

I said that him being EVERYONE doesn't make sense. Him being everyone was not my argument. How does it not make sense that anybody I meet online could be anyone in real life? I don't know the person's identity and I don't know who knows my identity. Cyberparanoia is perfectly rational when you think about it like that. Unfortunately, you're just like everyone else on this godforsaken planet and thus think that because your position makes sense to you and mine doesn't make sense to you, only your position should make sense to anyone.

Oh, sorry. I wasn't clear. He was responsible for killing himself, not the photo. He can't help his own appearance.

I feel that when they mean Cyberbullying...it is in references to people irl versus randoms on a forum.

So like...if my fb got hacked or whatever and people that I knew said crap like "your such a fucking gay ****** go to hell" obviously I would punch a b!tch..but others might cry (which is fine)

but if someone were to say that on here...and obviously I have never met any of ya'll irl... I wouldn't care because your ass would most likely be banned or whatever and then you wouldnt be a problem cause you would be gone.

Bully sucks...had it happen grew and became stronger from it. But when Zter is a dick to ya'll you need to take it with some salt cause you are more than likely going to never EVER meet him...which is probably best.

I hate to pull the age card...but kids need to start growing thicker shells. Yes bullying is bad...but you cant expect people to be nice to you all the time. Obviously I never experienced a violent bully incident so I cant speak on that topic.

But for realz, if you are on a forum where everyone is someone you have never met...I dont think cyberbullying is legit.

but if it affects your real life and your real fb account where your real friends can see...then its just an extension of bullying.

And yet the people who posted STILL didn't have to post what they posted.

    As far as you know.
