Yea, I didn't really expect you to care. I just kinda wanted to get it off my chest, I guess. Heck, I probably could've made it longer, because that really kinda is the tl;dr version XD I'm just not really the type of person to put personal stuff on the interwebs. I'm not one much for getting sympathy, either.

He's kinda like an educated troll, Makaze is. Also he has maners.

Nope. I'm pretty sure that going through a similar experience makes her anger what you call being trolled, no owning was involved here. Oh, forgive me, I was thirteen at the time. Whatever.

Glad that she got to vent. Always feels better to express yourself fully.

Okay. I admit defeat. She would have owned me if I hadn't been trying for it. She put real emotion into it and I felt it.

To me, cyberbullying is fake. In these days, there's that helpful block button or that red X at the top right corner.

Don't see how it can't be resolved then. Actual bullying? Yeah thats bad. Cyberbullying? A bunch of shit.

While there are things you can do to prevent it, some people are really persistent about it--block one of their addresses and they'll use their friends or simply make more. Furthermore, there's sites like Formspring and Tumblr that allow anonymous questions. I know you can disable it with Tumblr but I dunno about Formspring. And yes you can say that people who are being targeted by bullies should simply not make Formsprings, but Formsprings can have positive and fun aspects to it if used correctly. But that targeted person is prevented from experiencing that because others decided to ruin it for them.

That's flawed, because I don't think anyone knows what Formsprings is.

    ...I didn't anyway.

    Seemingly Insensitive

I find both to be equally harmless, or destructive, depending on how you see it. The net is no different, you call it shit because [perhaps] you are not so quick to offend, as some others are. But really, I cannot bring myself to care for either of them, no matter how potentially destructive they may be; as Mach said, bullying is inefficient if you do not fuel the perpetrators with results, emotion. Bullying is fueled by emotion. Give nothing, receive nothing. Should be noted that Makaze went through similar experiences.

I have been bullied before, slightly - and I hesitate to claim it bullying, for it didn't even get so far as to scathe me. Kids trying to force a reaction out of me - all of their effort was petty at the most, no more than a minor distraction. The little demons would get the biggest kick out of running up to me and screaming in my ears, and then watching me remain unreactive, utterly deadpan. Didn't significantly impact me emotionally, so her spurt of anger at Makaze seems unjustified [to me]. Still, I keep in mind that our points of view differ, and what seems like paltry to me could be, by all means, quite devastating to her.

TL;DR not everyone is as seemingly insensitive as you and I, Makaze. You should know this by now.

Same exact thing happened to me, I turned out different, I just build up the most evil, negative, heartless personality I have now! Now no one picks on me, they just call me a heartless *******, trust me you don't want to hear the harsh things I've said to people who have picked on me, now I'm getting death threats almost every school year, but I don't really care, they're just trying to scare me, like the pussies they are! I feel you're pain, so I just want to say, your not alone!

I'm gonna disagree on the not giving a response to the bullying part, cause it's not always efficient. I spent over five years doing that, ignoring the verbal abuse and exclusion nearly everyone, even my so-called-friend dished out at me. It changed absolutely nothing, the more emotionless I became the more they tried to get a response out of me.

Then one time almost all of them ganged up on me in the middle of a class, and I had a complete meltdown. I spent the rest of the class crying in the bathroom, and my parents were almost called to pick me up (it was the last class, and they were coming to get me after school anyway). The teacher had a stern talking to all of us, some of it one on one, and gradually they started to leave me alone. I mean, the worst bully didn't stop until he left the school nearly a year later, but the rest were a lot kinder to me afterwards. My skin also started to grow at that point, so it was taking more for them to even affect me anyways.

But yeah, each case is different. What works for some only makes things worse for others.

How we differ: I, on the other hand, actually don't care about bullying. They can hound me all they would like to, make a fool of themselves. I am not trying to be emotionless, I truly am emotionless. Unresponsive (emotionless) to their pestering, that is.

ITT: People assuming everyone reacts the same way to bullying, be it in text form or verbal/physical form. Assuming they are built the same way emotionally also.

Online you don't get the body language to tell you if someone is just pulling a cruel prank on you or actually means it. Honestly, I just don't get what's so great about trolling people because sometimes in the end, trolling is as devastating to a person as verbal abuse is. Does person B know that person A is trolling? No, because textual conversation takes away the factor of responsibility and consideration for all parties involved.

So if your 'harmless trolling' eventually drives a 13 year old boy to hang himself because one too many anonymous posters called him a ****** based on a picture he posted on Facebook or a video he posted on Youtube, where in does the responsibility lie?

Yea, I feel kinda bad that I blew up last night/stupid-early this morning.
You guys know I'm generally a cheerful person, there's just a few subjects that get me riled up. :p

Personally, I think bullying in any manner should be taken seriously. There are actually laws against it in some places, I know.

You guys are totes gonna laugh at me for this because hurdur I like Taylor Swift, but she recently put out a new song that I really like that has to do with bullying.

    /has probably lost all respect.

Oh, I'm very different from that now, I was only 11 back then, so it's been 9 years now...
Today, on the rare occasion that someone tries to bully me I'll either laugh it off and snark back at them, try to logically explain to them why what they're doing is stupid, or start pulling pseudo-psychological on them.

Laurence, if I could rep you a hundred times, I'd do it *goes to spread stuff around*
