.... And while I was scouting for enemies with the binoculars during the phase in which the soldiers are looking for suspicious activity, one soldier went behind me and he didn't even notice me until I shot him to death. Here's the thing though.... I was crouching in the open road yet he did not notice me..... Sounds like what Kojima said is true that the AI of the soldiers are "stupid" Anyways, it's a good game, and it satisfies my dose of some new Metal Gear games. (Besides Rising.) For those who played the game, what are your thoughts about it?

Which difficulty did you pick ? From easy to normal they' re nearly blind as long as you don' t move. I finished MGS4 with no kill no alert in the highest difficulty setting, their behavior was much more believable (considering Snake was wearing an octocammo).

There's no Easy mode on Ground Zeroes from what I had seen. Just Normal and Hard. Not sure if there is an Extreme function. And I played on the normal version of the game. BTW, in case you are wondering, there is no Octocamo or any camoflage feature in this game.

Yeah I figured there was no octocammo given the time period, but I was wondering if the costumes were still there. It' s probably for the best, magically changing your clothes every thirty seconds wasn' t exactly realistic and it got annoying real fast. In PeaceWalker I ended up picking a polyvalent costume and sticking with it.

What, you've never seen someone switch clothes in a middle of a battlefield full of enemies? Totally believable.

I'm actually pretty disheartened by the lack of any camo index... There's nothing even pointing out how hidden you are?

Besides changing the skins (At least from what I've heard.) There is no camo index. At least in Ground Zeroes. Not sure if Phantom Pain will have a Camo system.

No box, no cigar, no ! sound, no peeing man, no David Hayter, no knocking.
Seems like a lot of MGS traditions are being taking out of this, and they are going a bit more generic with the interface, map markers, etc. But somehow despite all that its still a really REALLY fun game. Thats one thing I love about the MGS series, every game's gameplay is different. I think for the future for the series as a whole, its a bad direction since I don't want all the games to be like this. But for now for this game alone, I welcome the new style.

Cigars will make a return in the Phantom Pain as a way to fast forward time. Like in Skyrim. I think the ! sound along with the symbol was in a few gameplay trailers but I'm noit quite sure. David Hayter's voice is not quite suited for Big Boss, but he is suited for Solid Snake. Well the magazines make a return, so you can do that to distract enemies. And I agree that there should be very few games that has the same features as Ground Zeroes.

Not to spark a the David/Kiefer debate but David's voice already voiced Big Boss in MGS3, Portable Ops, Peacewalker, etc. How can't it fit? I know they have to make the voice grow older due to Richard Doyle
    voicing Big Boss in MGS4,
but from David Hayter to Kiefer its too big of a change and doesn't seem natural at all. I mean when I was playing the game, because how different Kiefer sounded, it make me think of the voice actor instead of the game. If they wanted to get rid of David for an older sounding snake, why not just use Richard Doyle himself? Have him try to sound younger. Because he actually sounded like an older Big Boss and there were zero complaints with his performance.

My theory is that a young Solid Snake will show up at the end of Phantom Pain, voiced by David Hayter.
    IT MAKES SENSE
    BELIEVE PEOPLE. BELIEVE.

I wish there was a option to vote that was just "Pretty Good," seeing how this was a prologue game for Phantom Pain.

But Solid Snake would be 12 or 13 by that point of the game... So why not just hire a 12 year old voice actor and keep David Hayter for Big Boss? :<

Same. I expected it to be short. We all should of. Its a prologue with tons of replayability to hone our skills so by the time Phantom Pain comes around we will have the new system down. Which is actually kind of cool, its going to be the first MGS where you mastered how to play beforehand so you can snake around properly during the first playthrough.. I think it will make it more fun.

and also David Hayter making such a big deal out of it

I really screwed my first playthrough super hard. I didn't realize I had a tranq gun until I rescued Chico for Christ sake! I used up my rifle's suppressor to kill people when I didn't need to! Then I alerted everyone when I tried to escape with Paz. My helicopter blasting out Ride of the Valkyries probably didn't help matters as I tried to escape.

Pretty much my theory since the whole "Sutherland is Snake" fiasco come about. I'm calling it: there'll be a sequence after the main story where we play as a Metal Gear 1 aged Solid Snake, voiced by David Hayter.

That theory would work if it turns out Eli isn't Liquid Snake like many are predicting.

The game is GREAT. Instead of finishing the game in 30 minutes like some recyclable tin can, I am immersing myself into this.

Started out the game without reflex or the marker options and am doing a run without being spotted. THE GAME IS HARD (in the sense that the sneaking lvl has decreased and you're easier to be spotted) I've spent maybe about 3 hours in the main mission and I've only found 3 XOF patches.

Also, did you really just shoot a marine? THEY'RE THE GOOD GUYS. XOF = BAD.

    But w/es m8.

I can't afford to be picky about who I kill when they are shooting at me.
