Thanks for dissuading me from getting one for now. I'll wait a year or so for decent games and a slim version that isn't improperly balanced on one side (kekeke).

Things have been going completely fine now. Console is virtually silent on home screen. in gameplay its a lot quieter than it was. Got the Killzone patch working, had to close the game and run the patch from my downloads.

 

Oh it's fine now? Great then. But that still doesn't change the fact that I'm going to wait for a slim version in about a few years.

It's not improperly balanced. The rocking that people complain about is as designed. When it's sitting on your tv stand, it's totally still... And who woulda thunk that objects rock when you put weight on them. Protip: don't stack your consoles on top of one another (which the ps4 does fine btw).

 

I know this. The improperly balanced thing was meant to be tongue-in-cheek but y'know, sarcasm on the internet and all that.

This just seemed to be what I've witessed a lot of people complaining about, and I found it funny/petty, is all. The real reason I don't want one is lack of good games at launch and waiting for a price drop.

As I've said, the console is running perfectly now and the games look fantastic. Some other people I've talked to had similar issues to me but it's been resolved for them too.
The reason I got a PS4 so early is because the PS4 has already been hacked, and while I'm not against console hacking at all, I in fact I really enjoy it and have multiple modded consoles, It really annoys me when consoles are hacked this early and I'm not gonna get to experience them the way it was intended. Luckily right now people with custom firmware on their PS4 cannot access PSN, but within a year who knows what will happen. I want to enjoy the console as much as I can before it is fully hacked.

Actually I'm just gonna get a Wii U for now but I figure a little console warring is mandatory

 

Fuck getting any new console until maybe mid-2014. No Bayonetta 2. No Kingdom Hearts III. No Final Fantasy XV. No MGS5. No Watch Dogs.

I'm still waiting it out to hear more on how Gaikai is gonna work and the library to build up more, but it's good to hear that it's running pretty solid.

Only paying $20 for all of the 6 characters released so far and then whoever's going to be released later?

I'm as critical as anyone else about having to pay for substantial content when I buy a game (fuck that Street Fighter x Tekken bullshit Capcom pulled), but this is one exception that I'm ok with. It handles a lot like League of Legends (boooooo people don't like that game but I do) in that you could easily just enjoy the game at its free version, and its really up to you if you buy anyone beyond Jago. Fighting game fans like myself who enjoy variety will spend some money. Had I an Xbox One, I'd just get the Ultimate Edition.
