So, has anyone been following the whole Wendy Davis filibuster thing?

Yup. 11 hours straight (with no breaks aside from other people asking questions).

    Huh. That's pretty cool.

I personally have no problem with abortion.

If you don't believe in abortion, good for you. Don't get an abortion. But don't take it out on others and ban it based on your personal beliefs.
I am not necessarily pro-abortion as I am pro-choice. As in, women should have the power to choose what to do with their own f*cking bodies.

How can somebody not believe in abortion? It clearly exists.

I agree with your belief, but not your reasoning. That is not to say that your reasoning is invalid, just that it's not the same as mine.

Abortion is morally wrong, but that has no bearing on whether or not it should be legal. The purpose of law is to ensure that society runs smoothly. Abortion does nothing to cause harm to society as a whole. Therefore, abortion should be legal.

Interpretation: Bodies which are in the process of f*cking.

What about when their bodies are not in the process of f*cking?

The funny thing is...it isn't. in most cases, anyway.
Anyways, I was feeling...bloggy and artistic when I read about DOMA and Prop 8 today so I posted a status on Facebook. I mentioned Wendy Davis, though (hashtag and all and I told myself I wouldn't use them). She received three strikes during her filibuster (Not sure if it's a Texas Senate rule or a general one, but three strikes and you're out). The first and third was for straying off topic and the second was for another Senator helping her adjust her back brace or something (which broke the "standing without assistance" rule, apparently). She was only three hours short, but thankfully, the Senate still failed to pass the bill. So...yeah, #IStandWithWendy even if I was lying down when it happened.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What exactly is your point here? "Abortion is morally wrong," is my opinion, which I stated as a fact.

Morals are a very personal thing. Some people agree on certain things but there's a lot of variating even within a single culture. So if get a response that doesn't make a ton of sense to you, just remember that morals are opinions like your favorite color is.

Pardon my French, but that's got to be the stupidest damn thing I've ever heard said before taking a sharp socio-political stance. Posting your opinions on a public forum is not exercising your right to free speech; it is getting on the mic and broadcasting your speech to an audience. You don't need to do that to satisfy yourself on a personal level, but doing it entails a commitment to supporting it. In other words, if you're not prepared to defend yourself, don't step in the freakin' ring.

I actually don't have a concrete opinion on this, as I was an accidental birth and I've been well enough divided on this issue since I was intelligent enough to carry the thought in my head. So all things being equal I will stay out of that discussion. It's just this bit that irked me. Y'all feel free to slug it out, but don't try to deny each other the hit back, that's just childish.

Why do I need to defend my opinion if I'm not trying to convince anybody of it? Part of my entire point was, and I quote:

I answer that question with another question: If you're not interested in discussing it, what in the world are you getting out of it at all by voicing it on some forum?

That would be a clever zinger, if this wasn't a really weird and frankly inefficient means of venting

...Actually it probably wouldn't be that clever either way
