So at school today

I was hanging out with my friend in class, and this guy turns around and says:
"Hey Elaine, did you ever play Kingdom Hearts?"
And of course I get all excited and think "Oh yeah I'll own all of you in Kingdom Hearts trivia and knowledge and be cool for once."
When she answers with "No.."
And he says "Good, that game sucked."

I literally told him to get the fuck out of the classroom.

 

Actually, I find a lot of people on my campus who don't like Kingdom Hearts.

Which probably explains why I'm on KHV.

 

I bet they've never even played the game.

 

A lot of people see Disney and think, "Wow I hate Disney that game sucks."

the main recurring reason for why the majority of people don't play it is due to final fantasy

a lot of people have misconceptions about it, thinking it's all "anime and homos and shit" when obviously it's not

see how many people have played epic mickey? it's not because of disney

The game has obvious problems, but it don't suck.

Really? Everyone I know thinks the opposite about Disney.

 

I know my brother doesn't like it because he's bad at it.

 

I would argue that the first KH a.) can be kinda frustrating & b.) hasn't aged 100% well, lol. That camera.

It's also written poorly if you ask me (mostly from a script point of view) which adds endearing/cheese value but isn't for everyone :v. It's a shame that causes it to be overlooked because it has some genuinely atmospheric moments in there, ex. the Dive to the Heart is a really reaaaally nicely done opening sequence imo. It's somewhere between eerie and magical for me.

It doesn't suck and it kind of sounds like he didn't give it a fair shot lol or play it at all but it might also be ill-suited to him. Kinda jerky for him to have brought it up with the express purpose of trashing it though.

 

Nice, I hope he had a real reason. You should have him play it, or at least question him, and see what he actually knows. Sounds to me he just said it without knowing anything about it.

That's about 95% of the reason I don't want to play the first game again. That camera.

 

I figured he was talking about the whole series of Kingdom Hearts together, because not even ten seconds before we were talking about the 3DS and I mentioned I had one, and his friend asked if I played the Kingdom Hearts game that came out for it yet, and I said no, I wish I did though.

I get quite a bit of flak at school for liking KH (particulary from this one little butt), but the people who know me by now accept the fact that I am passionate about the game, are neutral about it or also like it.

Most people here seem to start indiscriminately hating all things Disney around when they turn 14.

Most of the time they grow out of it, and of course not everyone starts at all, but it's certainly a thing.

I only played the first one a couple months ago, but navigating Deep Jungle was awful and I tried to avoid going back to it as much as I could, lol.

This is also true, hah. Though, overall in both script and story, it's written better than KH2 imo (undeniable proof we totally owned you lamers)
