I just want to say I don't see why you're losing respect for Ben. All he wanted to do was leave and make sure he could not come back, so he could focus on real life, school, etc. We all know staff refuse to do request bans, so it's not like he could ask politely.

Also, I think people are misunderstanding Ben's whole 'people on the internet aren't real' thing. I'm pretty sure all he means is, we're not actually there. We can't interract with him physically, we can't go to the movies with him, etc. I don't blame him for wanting to leave and focus on making friends he can actually do all those things with.

No, he actually thinks that we don't exist. Fair enough too. Do you think of me existing in the same way that you think of your laptop existing? Of course not. This is the mentality he uses. Logically, he knows we exist, but subconsciously, the way he thinks about us and the way he thinks about something he can touch is different. We all have this mentality, we just don't realise it.

My opinion would probably be different if he hadn't suddenly been an ass to me recently for some reason.
I'd like to say I'd miss him as a friend had he been more...friendly to me, but not as a member.

 

I don't think he traumatised anyone really, and it was a painless death. No time for members to start ripping him to shreds, like what happens to those caught up in drama. Just a few images, and he's banned swiftly. So it gave some people a laugh and he left on his own terms. I can't see a better method than that. Possibly advertising condoms, but that doesn't have the same class.
