So after watching Digimon The Musical

You people somehow managed to get me hooked on the series.
I finished Data Squad last week, and now I'm wondering how I should go about watching the rest of them.

Should I be 1337 and continue to watch them in a backwards order? Or should I move down to Adventure 01 and go up from there?

And if you're wondering, I kinda want to avoid Jar Jar Binks the Agumon in Season 1. His voice makes me want to strangle puppies.

 

Ha, I remember watching the film and you were just like 'wtf' the whole time. :p

Oh yeah, cause Agumon from Data Squad wasn't an annoying sounding *****.
Anyway, star from Series one to two, best seasons IMO. Could be my childhood speaking but I'm fine with that.

 

you probably should start with Season 1, since Season 2 is a direct sequal...ish, and Season 3 has things that come about from things in Season 2. I've watched all of Data Squad and halfway through Season 4, but Seasons 1, 2, and 3 you should watch in order

 

While his voice was kinda annoying, it doesn't compare in the slightest to Season 1's
Seriously, watching the second part of that movie was like watching The Phantom Menace all over again D:

I've heard people say 01 and 02 were the best, guess I'll take your word for it too.

And even throughout Data Squad I had many wtf headaches.

Watch them in order from Series 1.

They stop being worthwhile after Series 3 in my opinion but then I didn't really watch the others.

 

yeah, some of the digivolvling doesn't make any sense at all. And if you play Digimon World: Dusk/Dawn you'll be even more confused, because 1 baby digimon can become more than 20 different digimon sometimes. And heck, not even a baby digimon, because a rookie digimon can come form 4 different baby digimon, which is really confusing

 

I actually quite enjoyed Season 5/Data Squad, although that could be because it's the only season of the show I've ever watched, plus the fact that the animation style was changed so it seemed more anime like.
The only thing I disliked about Data Squad was Marcus, and the fact that he is somehow Superman :/

Is that the same as the Digimon World Data Squad game on the PS2? Because from what I've seen it has a similar digivolution system. In that game Agumon can become Veemom and whatnot.

 

Yeah, definitely watch Season 1 and 2. It starts out a bit slow, but gets sooo much better later on. It's too bad you were spoiled with some of the Digievolutions though xD Some of them are fantastic the first time they appear.

 

umm, Agumon doesn't become Veemon, that's for sure. Agumon's only digivolution chain is the ones from Season 1 and Season 2.
And I don't see how you don't like Marcus. He's personally one of my favorite characters in the entire series so far. Sure he does impossible things sometimes, but you gotta remember it's Digimon, and they do even more ridiculous stuff than Pokemon sometimes

For me, I watched the series in order it was made. Digimon Adventures 01, then 02, then Digimon Frontier, then Digimon Tamers, and Data Squad... never really gotten into it because I watched the series in the order it was made and thought it was really... lame... :\

 

That's okay. I like it mostly for nostalgia anyway.

I dislike Pokémon.

 

I know, but that's how it happens in that game.
Marcus....got better towards the end, but his character development felt a bit...underwhelming. He would go a few episodes being completely okay and then the next thing you know he was back to being a brat. And I never really noticed him changing all that much.
And for goodness sake he shattered one of SaberLeomon's fangs WITH HIS BARE HANDS B|

Yeah, that's another thing that had me utterly lost when we watched the movie.

Gatomon >Angewomon = wtf how again

but wait here is the kicker......

Gatomon = champion level
Angemon = champion level

HOW DOES THIS WORK!?!?!?!?!

 

In my eyes the only season of that series that is worthwhile, was the original one. Which was a legitimately great season, but the second season had boring characters and too much angst. And it is way cooler to be stuck in the digimon world than to just come and go as you please.

 

You really shouldn't bring logic into digimon. I mean, you'd end up more brain dead if you put logic into pokemon. But what's really strange is Seraphimon and Ophanimon are both Mega, and have the same strength, but Angemon and Angewomon seem to have the same strength, while one is Champion and the other is Ultimate, and MagnaAngemon seems to outclass Angewomon easily even though it's Ultimate as well. It makes no sense whatsoever

 

Digivolving usually involves a pattern dependant on the Digimon, in the anime at least.

Let's go for Agumon's Season 1 digivolution tree:
Agumon a small orange T-Rex shaped dinosaur
to
Greymon, a large orange T-rex shaped dinosaur with blue stripes and a exterior skull helmet... thing
to
MetalGreymon, a large orange T-rex shaped dinosaur, with a robotic arm and chest plate, a pair of feather like wings, with a metal skull helmet.

See a pattern? I mean they're not all that obvious but they have a theme around them, with Agumon's being Dinosaur and android like features.
Patamon, you've got the them of flight and Anglicism. Rookie stage isn't representative of later stages, usually.

I mean, Lalamon to Rosemon? Pfffft.

 

I'm pretty sure Gatoman had a ring thingy on her tail that pretty much had her as strong as a Champion, because in the Digimon Digital Card Battle game (yes I have it still) there's a Rookie form of Gatoman and it didn't have the tail ring.

And Omnimon >>>>>>>> All

 

Gatomon is a Champion level, I kid you not. All logic goes out the window with this anime.

 

Omnimon does not beat all, since it couldn't win in the Revenge of Diaboromon movie. In fact, it was Imperialdramon Fighter Mode that beat Diaboromon the second time. So that must be Omnimon is second strongest. But I'm sure Lucimon would have something to say against that.
