Guys, I'm having a LOT of trouble sleeping lately. The fact that my school starts back in 3 weeks probably doesn't help. I've tried to count sheep but after 150, I guess it doesn't work. The earliest I can fall asleep is 1:00 AM, and that is, I've been trying to sleep since 10:30. I might need some help on this one...

I've been having a similar problem, except I usually sleep until 11 or 12.

That's happened to me before... It was usually because I was up most of the night arguing with me brother. You should do what I did and make a list of the possible reasons you can't fall asleep.

Sometimes watching screens before you go to sleep can do that (computer, tv, etc.). Try reading before bed. It's apparently proven that it helps people sleep. \(o.O)/

You could try closing your eyes and clear your head of ALL thoughts and take a deep breath and relax.

Go to bed, relax every muscle in your body and breath in and out. Just relax your body and clear your mind.I tend to try this, but when I clear my mind, everything that was in my mind, comes back. >>

A great way to relax is to lay in the dark, and curl your toes tightly so much that it hurts a bit, and then let go. Do the same thing all the way your body -- like after you do your toes, do that to your toes and legs, then your toes, legs, and abs, etc. It leaves you feeling very relaxed and it helps me when I have trouble sleeping.

I have that problem sometimes, too. For me, it's usually because of stress. Just try to forget about it all and think about whatever it is that relaxes you. Make sure that you just try to be calm. Turn off all the lights and the TV. Just lie down and let the night air soothe you.

Try listening to some relaxing music and not think of anything. Keep a blank mind and eventaully you will go to sleep. Yawning on purpose also helps.

I have the same problem. It's because there are too much on your mind.Read a book for awhile then try to go to sleep or work on a story before you go to sleep. That seems to be helping me a bit.

Move your arms alot it makes you tired and makes you fall asleep...Or at least it does with me...If that doesn'twork reading is a good way to sleep jst read a chapter and put the book down and you should be asleep by midnight (Maybe a little later if your REALLY restless) If I don't do those things I end up staying awake till...I don't know about three o'clock, two hours later I'd have to wake up for school.

Try drinking a glass of milk around 10 pm if that's your normal bed time around. Also as others suggested, some soft, tranquil music is a good idea.

Try also at say 8 pm to try winding down. Take a bath or shower, get into night clothes and just do relaxing things for the last couple hours of your day. Try to clear out homework and stuff earlier on that is stressful so at the end of the day you can do more serene things such as reading a book, meditating, doing some light hobby or something else.

Make sure to get some exercise in during your day to help wear you out more. Some physical activities are healthy and if done earlier in the day, you will feel more tired later on. Make sure also that when you are going to bed, you shut off bright lights, or flickering lights. No loud music or TV. If you don't like it very dark in the room, get a simple night light.

Hope you can get some sleep. I'm a horrible insomniac myself so I do have to tend to wear myself out if I want good rest.

I don't sleep a lot, but it helps me sometimes to play a movie or Anime (anything that runs a good two hours or so) on my TV, with the volume low. I don't even really have to watch it. It might not work for everyone though xD.

Umm, drinking a warm drink like hot chocolate helps a lot of my friends, and there's certain teas and drinks that you can buy that are meant for helping people relax. I haven't tried this, myself.

Also, taking a walk around (I like to outside, but if it's too late you can around your house or something) and then listening to some music on lower volume (Most people use calming music, but really anything works for me aside from metal or screamo, those are almost like caffeine to me xD) and relaxing might help.

I hope this helps ^^, my habits seem to be a lot different from others' x3.

    Its very Common
Mostly People Can't go to sleep, because something may be bothering them
But Sometimes when I can't go to sleep
I either stay up and sketch
    or
Listen to some smooth music [which helps alot]
