Skullgirls A 2-D fighting game be Reverge Labs The game is created by Mike Z (known for being a prominent Tager player amongst the Blazblue community) and Alex Ahad. Voice directed by Christina Vee. It's essentially a 2D fighter which can either be played 1v1 like a traditional fighter 2v2 like Marvel VS Capcom 3v3 like Marvel VS Capcom 2 and 3 Or a mix of each (ie 1v2, 3v1) The damage and health is scaled according to how much people you are using (using 1 character will make your attacks to more damage then someone using 3) The game features an infinite detection which allows you to automatically burst if you are caught in an infinite combo (a combo that uses the same series of moves over and over again and is inescapable under normal circumstances) Game is also entirely hand drawn And music is produced by Michiru Yamane (Symphony of the night) Here's some Gameplay videos (the game is still in development so some videos will look more dated then others) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-5ZH5mx7UQ Most Recent video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YSYhsE2VKM&feature=channel_video_title http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKRURFEZSTg&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgtJy7wrAuQ&feature=relmfu No release date quite yet Will be on PSN Store and XBL.
I've been looking forward to this game since the first previews were shown, it looks like it's shaping to be a really solid fightan game. I'm really happy they're doing this. I went through this in MvC3 so much jesus CHRIST.
I remembered oh8 actually being the creator of this game, which you already announced. Here's his deviantart (for those who are interested.) http://oh8.deviantart.com/
I heard Kinuko and Persona from Mecha Fetus are rockin' it as animators. Plus with Michiru Yamane doing the music, clearly Reverge wants to do this game right. All signs point to great graphics and music. And the Grinta vs Mike Z battle showed off how slick things are now. The Anti-Skullgirls track totally has Yamane written all over it. They're still looking for animators and people to do clean-up. If only my hands were good at something other than progamming.
New website Unfortunately there's no longer a confirmation of a 2011 release Next character is gonna be Ms. Fortune Also DAT CHARACTER SELECT MUSIC! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z69QswD7ezY
o_0 i actually know one of the freelancers that is making the artwork... Wow at first when i saw this, i must admit i had my doubts... but it does look more promising in video game format. I'm curious as to what consoles it will be available on. Xbox360 and PS3?
SO UH JUST FYI IF ANYBODY OWNS THIS FOR PS3 OR 360... YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE IT MUCH LONGER. Just heard this on the official stream, there should be an archive up as of a few minutes ago. MikeZ just said that Konami "requested" Sony pull Skullgirls from PSN, due to the dev team severing ties with them. And Sony said yes. Microsoft is also doing this because ????. He has no idea if people who already own it will still have it afterward or if netplay will work at all. The team is doubling their efforts to get the new build up and running, which means hopefully they will return under new publishers by the next year. Sony has allegedly pledged that re-purchase will not be necessary, but there's also no precedent for this event at all, so who knows how it's gonna go down. Being the loveable guy he is, MikeZ's calling for peace and that no one go around slandering Konami, Sony, or anyone else over it. Even so... man, this just reeks. Whether they're legally in the right or not. Even Mike compared it to an FF boss's dying attack. I'm just glad I got it for PC so I can continue to play and support the game through this mess. Though there is an upshot: Because of this, we may get the patch sooner than ever, which means all the new characters are aaaall the closer. :L
One of my all-time favorite fighting games right now. Konami needs to stop being so freakin' salty about it. Also, Painwheel master race.
