So hi again c: School's back which means less activity on here ;_; But I'll go on regularly unless stated. /likeitmatters ANYWAY. I have been drawing a lot, mostly sketching. And I decided to share it here as always and ask for some CnC n__n SO HERE IT GOES Spoiler These two are from my sketch book, just really quick in class while waiting for my teacher and stuff. I don't really know what to think about them, I might use them as possible character designs for projects in the future though! But I really don't know. erp. The bunny-girl's eyes are weird. I know D: Spoiler This is a sketch of Marceline and Bonnibel I did during Science Laboratory. It was free period since we just got to talk to our teacher about our grades all one by one and stuff so that was a lot of time to waste. I plan on colouring this maybe c: Spoiler Lastly, I drew this about 2 months ago but only got to colouring it the day before yesterday /shot. It's my friend, Rib, drawn as Damian Wayne of Batman and Robin (design based before the reboot, which is not much different from the new 52 but--- nevermind). I realize it's really non-proportional which sucks and I was really lazy with the background... but I'm kind of satisfied with how this turned out. Kind of. I should have added more shadows and highlights to the face though but I kind of went to bed = u = Spoiler I abused the spoiler tags. Derp. Opinions, Comments and, Critiques are AWESOME and makes YOU awesome /shot Thanks for viewing or giving time to go through this, if you have n__n
Hey, baby, can I have your talent? ;n; These are beautiful. I really love the last one. It would be cool to see some more of your stuff colored. You seem to have a good concept of shading and such. Coming into this thread, I already knew I wouldn't have much criticism, so sorry, but wow.
This reminds me: sketching > teacher lecturing You have THIS MUCH free time in class? Either that or you draw amazing sketches in an insanely small amount of time.... The bunny one is my favorite. Kind of reminds me of Bioshock (whoever gets the Sander Cohen reference, MAJOR KUDOS) and Alice In Wonderland. Marceline and Bonnibel is just cute as hell <3 As for the last pic, that's pretty epic.
Alright, time to bring out my critiquing from my dust collection under my bed. (Hopefully I remember how to D: ...) The first two: Fun little sketches, very visually appealing. Fun and simply cute. But a more meticulous level, they are not entirely proportionate. Of course, this could be due to the fun style, which is not a problem, they do work the way they are. The only thing that really bothers me is the length of the lips and especially the necks. The lips are supposed to start directly below the center of the pupils. However this works well given these are cartoons, not realism. The thing that is most distracting are the necks. They seem awkwardly shaped and broad near the sternum. A female neck generally stays within the jawbones in a vertical manner but then gives way to the muscle from the shoulder to the neck. They don't have any D: The second batch: Very pretty sketches, I love your perception of hair and filling it out. Definitely a strong point. Again, as the first two, be weary of neck proportions. The eyes seem 2D here, when shading a figure, remember that the eyes should be shaded as well. There should be a shadow underneath the upper eyelids, that will make them more uniform and realistic. The final piece: I simply adore this one, I love your use of color. If I may ask, I would like to know what you did with the color. Did you use copic markers or a computer program? I love your style, it really is magnified in this particular piece. the face and the hair is simply stunning and wonderful to look at. The only thing I see in this one that is really bothersome is her left eye (our right). It doesn't completely match the direction the right one (our left) is looking at; us. Also, the position is marvelous, most definitely a hard one to master. The only things with that are; Her back should curve more, in other words, bending forward in a steeper angle. Also, the the position of the legs bending should be in a steeper angle upward. The given position would make her fall backwards onto her back. The background is fine, it just seems the shadow is not a clear, distinct shape with the figure. These were really fun to critique. I know they were sketches, and in school when you're supposed to be listening to the teacher. xD Hope to see more of your work, simply marvelous good madam. Keep it up, and great job!
These are absolutely gorgeous. I fell in love with your texturing for hair xD Anyway, I like the first 2, you should try colouring them for more practise as I think it would be great. I don't have much critique over the first 2 pictures because they are done very well, just maybe on the first on, the second girls eyes seem a bit off- a bit too big and a bit too far up her head. Apart from that you should just keep practising. As for the coloured one, the shading is amazing and, as Llave said, the posture is beautifully done. My main critisims here are I feel her head is a tad bit too big and her feet are a bit too small. I also feel like the cloak should be in a more diagonal position as it lays across the ground, although this isn't a huge problem. I really wish I could do hair like you, really good! Keep it up.
Aww, Boni dear, thank you so much! You're too kind ; u ; <3 I plan to post some coloured pieces somewhere soon x) Once I get to actually colouring them D: /shot Wait, lolzors, don't get me wrong I listen in class and stuff. I just like to draw. Promise. [ You are now qualified to test to Dinny's parents about her academics ] ANYWAY. That's so cool! I've never played Bioshock (/shot) but always wanted to and I love Alice and herderp. Yeah. It's cool 8D Thank you so so much!! n____n <3 HUZZAHH!! Thank you so much Llavey c: Your critiques are A+ Hm, I guess I really should start reading art books and taking classes then. It's a shame I never knew the lips things ;____; /shootsself. And those darn necks always get at me >:c But I'm going to keep practicing and conquer them eventually. I'll keep the shading in mind maybe when I colour this sketch because I very much plan to (and maybe try to fix those necks up erp) c: Aww gawsh, those words. My heart ; u ; . Lolz sorry I'm lame. But I used a computer program! Photoshop CS4's all I have... I wish I could use Copic Markers but I just don't have them... But even if I use photoshop I don't actually like using a lot of layers x) It confuses me all the time. I usually just use 3 or 4 layers (at least for now, I haven't really had pieces with more than one subject and a delicate and detailed background): 1 for the background, 1 for the colour of the subject, and 1 for the line. I use an extra layer to put my teenie signature in xD I'm glad you enjoyed it...? xD I'm so thankful for your critique it's insane. Thank youuuu c: For the record, I do listen in class xD I promise... (points to reply to Tequila above) You definitely will! Thanks so much again! I am still so up for our first-time collabs for the virgin collaborators Aww, thankies c: I plan on quickly colouring them and taking them in as character design for I don't know whats x) But I plan to draw them elsewhere with effort some time hehe~ Yes, that girl looked really alien to me. I think I'll make her an alien... I'll be doing more superhero art for sure as my comic collecting increases so I'll try out capes then and the correct proportions hehehe. But gwah~ Thank you so so much for your critiques! Super appreciated c:
