SJ is re-banned

Way too many people miss it when a member gets banned (unto people still being surprised to hear that Zter was banned), so I think this needs to be said. Obviously because of the timing, civility needs to be kept, but awareness should be kept as well.

Rest in peace. Or maybe you'll make it back sometime, who knows.

This is a measure we had to take. SJ's ban is current in appeal and we are voting on the subject; it's only fair to others who have appealed that he is not allowed an alt account in the meantime. If/when his appeal is approved, he'll be back.

 

SJ is actually a terminator.

If my word counts for anything, he has been more of a model citizen than me since he has come back. Maybe you should break policy in lieu of what currently seems helpful? I know it is up to a vote, but many of the staff will say that it just isn't how you do things, and I don't think that attitude is fair given the circumstances.

But again it probably is not worth anything.

I meant that perhaps you shouldn't take policy into account. It doesn't seem very important, at least to me. I'm more concerned about people siding with policy over the change than people not acknowledging the change.

 

Considering the change is part of the appeal policy. It would not be fair to other banned members or any staff that may wish to raise a counter point to accelerate the process. It shouldn't take that long anyway.

 

I'm more worried that it will become permanent.

 

I knew SJ better than anyone back in the old days, he's a much more civil person now, my two cents.

 

It currently is. He is getting an appeal. Worst case scenario is no change.

 

if you read between the lines of ashwin's terminator post you'd pretty much get at what has been decided lol. it'll be quick and easy i suppose.

 

Then worst case scenario, policy over outstanding appeal.

As far as I can tell that is the only thing that might keep him banned.

It took me a month to get my ban appealed. Jus' sayin'.

Most of your appeal was done before we had the system. In fact your appeal is part of why we went and made an appeal system instead of leaving some arbitrary unspoken version. So you hit delays because of that.
