Sixth Digimon Season?! Digimon Xros Wars

I actually thought they were done with the anime, but oh am I glad I was wrong.
I feel like such a geek to be honest, but this brings nostalgia, oh so much nostalgia.
Digimon's my longest series, I started it in third grade with the original (The Dub version of course)
Anyways, it's called Digimon Xros Wars (In English, it would probably be Cross Wars) but there's no confirmation for a North American release.
It's set to come out in July on TV Asahi or something, but that's the first season to be aired on a different network in Japan.

The leader's name is Taiki Kudo. And the best part? He has goggles. I mean, I liked Marcus Damon, and his voice actor (hint hint KHV) played him really well, but the lack of goggles was disappointing.
His Digimon is brand new (as far as I know) and its name is Shoutmon. It looks like a red mechanical lizard (Keeping up with the [mostly] reptilian leaders). And he has a weapon.
From what I see, most of the new Digimon are mechanical.
THere's also Shoutmon X4. It has Omnimon's head and its bodyparts are made up of the other Digimon.
But no other humans have been shown. I also read something about star-shaped helper Digimon.

I hope that the main character isn't alone.

But this seems to be going for a mechanical kind of thing.

And there's a redesigned Greymon. He's purplish (Think evil metalgreymon from Adventure 02) and has a pair of headphones?

Taiki (they're overusing variations of "Tai" if you ask me) looks a little young.

I've always loved Digimon. From the first adventure, to the fourth one. I though Data Squad was a bit rubbish though. I'm gonna follow this for sure, may it get Dubbed in English.

I think Digimon is one of the few animes from which I like the Dubbed version better. Naruto is also one of the animes.

Anyways, I'm excited.

I learned about it a few days ago. Digimon should have stopped in the third season. Every time there's a new one they just make an Agumon/Tai wannabe pair and throw new colours to old Digimon or just give them an extra horn or something.

I might watch it (in Japanese most likely) but it's not like i will miss anything amazing if i don't.

 

Cant they leave poor digimon alone :O It was one of the first Animes i watched and i loved it Adv 1+2 and Frontier where great. Tamers sucked So badly and Savers was pretty bad too. Lets hope they don't ruin this one and your right Taiki looks about as old as maybe Tk or Kiari in Adv 1

 

I want that horned wolf Digimon. I've always been a fan of the lupine/canine/vulpine Digis (Garurumon anyone?).

Nice that they're trying to revive the series. I feel Data Squad was a bit of a flop.

 

Adventure and Adventure 02 were the classics.
Tamers was okay, but I definitely considered it a let down from the others.
But when I rewatched it, I loved it. And with Ryo and his games, it sorta kinda ties in with the first two seasons.
I liked Frontier. The character development, it was more mature than the others, and the spirit evolution was a turn off at first, but I liked it. I remembered that I didn't even know about frontier until Tommy got his spirit. I was at my friend's house and we just happened to change the channel to that and we went crazy because we thought Tommy's hat turned into his head as a Digimon xD

I liked Savers because of how, uh real? it seemed compared to the others?
But I think they tried to make it TOO real.

 

Looks like mechanical mix and match of older Digimon. The Greymon thing might be a redesigned BlackGreymon as I noticed it also has an axe for a tail (I think).
From what I can gather, that star thing in the corner of the picture from the Wikia page might be the in-training form of Starmon, the red lizard Digimon is a mechanical combo of Guilmon and Veemon.
I get the feeling that the Digimon digivolve by fusing together and that a bunch of them belong to one kid. The robot behind the kid has that Star Digimon and a few of those silver horned things merged into a sword, with the arm parts like Omnimon for those two Digimon in the picture and it's main body has the V shape from Shoutmon on it's chest. Honestly, I thought a Power Rangers Megazord, Mazinger and Omnimon had finally made love.
Anywho, this could be interesting. I'll watch it after I finish my rewatch of Tamers, watch all of Frontier and Savers then find the rest of Adventure and Adventure 02 >>

Also, I loved Adventure 1 and 2, then I loved Tamers but considered it a separate thing altogether and thought of them on equal footing. Tamers would have been better for us Western people if we had the Brave Tamer games though, since Ryo kinda ruined the flow for us since he seemed random. I’m having trouble getting into Frontier since people becoming Digimon just isn’t normal and Savers/Data Squad is something I have yet to see. I might also take a look at this Evolution X thing since that looks interesting.

 

hmmm ,

the series is so going down more by this in my opinion, i mean digimon has always been one of the first anime i ever saw and i loved it very much and still do but it seems everytime they release a new series its more fail than the first 2 ( maybe 3 ? ) , if they just stuck to the originals.....

Well , lets hope that this series is good or else its a bye bye digimon for me ...

Also teh wolf looks like the blue horned wolf in monster rancher =O

 

Digimon stopped being relevant after Tamers.

 

Looking foward since rumors started.
Even though i skipped Savers.

Also, for once main partner seems to be someone rational, as in, who can act alone, i never liked it that they have to depend on their tamers for everything >_>

 

Ok that's starting to not sound lame.. Which is good.

I may be interested. I didn't technically finish the third season, or the fourth (i think I barely started it too) So I kind of lost touch with their new aspects and whatnot. But I'm happy they are continuing the series. Though it gets more and more toward the back burner as time goes on and when it stops Pokemon will rule the world... I can't believe I just said that.
