The 128kbps is fine really for anyone who isn't an audiophile. Most people wouldn't appreciate the difference even if they had equipment to hear the difference. You joke that it sounds like laptop speakers but a lot of us do play it off laptop speakers, so better quality would still sound like laptop speakers.

As for the why it is set there. 128kbsp is 16kBps. That across 100 users is a bit over 1.5GBps upload bandwidth on the server, which is A LOT. I'm actually surprised that RvR got it for as little as he did. As much as having even more than that would be nice, this meets our needs. Not to beat a dead horse but the only obstacle here is money. If you and other users can get the funds together we would love to have an upgrade. Though that still leaves number of users vs sound quality, it would be discussed when we get there. Not a huge point in discussing what we can't do.

 

I wasn't joking. It really did sound like it was coming out of laptop speakers.

Makaze, unless you're sitting in a studio at the moment, or listening on the most professional set of headphones ever, shush. This is great. We're been suggesting this for age, and now that we finally have it, so stop making it seem terribad.

It's great, guys. Just wondering if there will be set times for DJ's to be on, or if it'll just be "Whenever I want/can".

 

Like I said, I really do like it. I listened to it for hours earlier.

I just wish it were better. I hate limitations. If most radio is this bad then that explains why I dislike radio.

 

This is as good as it's gonna get, unless people are willing to fork out serious cash for an upgrade. And it's not like we're broadcasting to the masses, so this is fine for 100 people at a time.

 

But I'm one of the one hundred. Waaah.

We're hoping to create some sort of scheduled shows, yes. If we can't have anything weekly to stick to, I'm sure we'll announce in advance when someone is "taking over."

 

Listening to it right now it seems pretty good, and I had no idea that this was even possible so I'm pretty surprised right now.

 

There's a big chance that the problem is on my end, but the sound is kind of laggy or choppy, and the songs change unexpectedly.

 

Umm the laggy and choppy part is probably on your end 'cause mine's working fine. the songs changing unexpectedly is normal I think.

Question here, and I don't know if it's already been addressed by now, but at the ending of each song, I can't help but notice that it abruptly cuts off, as if someone is changing it too early.

Is this is just because you're choosing the songs manually?​

 

I just noticed that when it switched songs on me just now.

And this is a great thing to listen to. At least now I won't be going through my youtube songs like crazy figuring out what to listen to when I can just use this when I want to

 

It's automatic. I'm still tweaking with the cross-fade settings though.

Keeping in mind however, there are some tracks that are really short so it might sound like it's cutting off but it really isn't.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to add this to the links there when you decide that it is working out?

 

I almost think it should have its own button, right next to Misc. due to how unique it is in terms of other things on the forum.
