That's horrible. I am at loss for any actual words, but that's a meaningless way to die in. I couldn't care less if Naruto gets banned or not, it can't be blamed on that manga/anime that this happened.

How the hell can that be possible?! You get death threads because of a fiction on comics and TV?! That is just... pathetic. I'm sorry to hear you have to put up with such ******ness.

Well, you gotta understand, this boy's sisters had a LOT of friends. When I said I was a bit annoyed that people were playing the blame game, rumors immediately surfaced that I was 'talking shit' about Codey, when I'm actually a huge friend of his.

Anyways, some girl totally blew up on me today and I had some trouble holding back my tears, so now teachers are involved as well as my immature friends who think they can solve everything by fighting. That's what pisses me off.

CODEY WOULD NOT WANT FIGHTING! SLDKJF;LKSFDJ;LKSDJFLKSDLK!!!
He was a damn good kid. He's probably in heaven laughing at our stupid asses.

That's pretty rash of them... But they might still be in shock over what happened.. You seem to understand that. I can only wish you good luck with this whole situation.

Its the parents fault for letting their kids watch those type of shows.

I'm sure there won't be any charges on this matter. But these are the reasons why anime shouldn't be mainstream **** on Cartoon Network. I mean roaming narutards, Naruto's a pathetic attempt at a good anime anyway.

Shows that are maketted towards his age group, you mean?

Yeah, there are tons of rumors of this whole thing being taken to court, but really, I don't buy it. There's WAY too many loopholes.

It's obvious that was coming. Most of the people there know the incident and most likely are angry so they suppose what they think should be done. In actuality, there's narutards attempting stunts like these all the time. Unfortunately for your friend, it lead to his demise.

I think the fact that Naruto makes kids want to drown in sand makes the series 4 times as attractive. I look forward to downloading the next episode. Seriously, they should give the kids at your school water wings when they hit the playground.

Yes kids that are under the age of 11 or 12 shouldn't be aloud to watch shows or movies that will cause them to get hurt or in this case killed.

T-T i know what you're talking about. i found out about it yesterday. it was total heartbreak for me. I never thought Gaara's character would bring on such a thing. I'm sure Codey was a great kid and didn't deserve such a death, esp. at such a young age. but my questions are: why were ten years olds watching naruto? it's violent and kids their age like to imitate things they see on TV. and: why weren't Codey's parents monitoring what he was watching?

my other concern about this problem is Gaara. He is not a bad character, yet people who do not watch the show think of him as one just because of what commercials show. now that this has happened, he will have to face more isolation and be even more ostracized. T-T

    Foxxie.
    HE WASN'T STUPID.
He was an amazingly smart kid.
His friends, however, were too clueless and caught up in the game to notice him DYING.

This issue has been brought up too much, though. Naruto in america is on a channel for kids his age, and his parents aren't very strict because they're anime fans themselves. Codey was just trying to have fun. hell, when I was 9 I would run around my yard with a stick screaming 'WINDSCAR' at everything I saw. I still imitate things I see on TV now, I mean, for god's sake I have a Death Note and I DO write names in it. Codey is no different from me, this was all just a horrible accident... and Parents usually start trusting their children around the age of 8 or so (at least, where I live, ie, Codey's city) so it's totally normal that they weren't there. But when they did find out after about 10 minutes, his friends got the lecture of a lifetime. Cursing included.

As for Gaara, most people who know of the situation aren't Narutards, so they haven't been able to trace it back to him. They're just blaming the show itself... good thing for Sand-boy.

<___> I'm secretly a Gaara fangirl, too... Shush!

It's just so wrong that someone had to die like that. It gets you thinking about what the next young death will be like. What other unnecessary deaths can happen? And in what way? I didn't know Codey, but there's a hole in my heart for him.

I guess it all comes down to the way Naruto is shown and advertised. It really isn't something kids (as in under the age of... let's say 12) should be watching. I admit that I like to learn the hand signs and stuff, but I know when it's too much. This is all just a big mistake... v.v

12 is going a bit too far... That's how old I am xD
And I've been watching Naruto since I was Codey's age... though most of my friends have since they were 11, and they're 13 now.

This world is indeed a scary place... It's things like this incident that prove that as a fact.

Wow, I thought you were older XD I started watching Naruto just last year. I'm 15 and I question the TV ratings on it. But that's not something I have control over, so I just deal with it.

Sometimes you get to thinking, esp. after something like this, that you wish you could turn back time and make things right. I know that if I had a time machine, the first thing I would do is go back to 9-11 and cancel all flights.

Not smart enough to know that you can't breathe when your head's buried in the sand though. :^O

...And well, that was unusual. I sorta lol'd, but mostly because of the oddity of the death.
