Should prostitution be nationaly legalized?

Well I don't know the innermost details, but the gist of it from what I have picked up from Newspapers is that you just go to the brothel (Name of the place) and give your money in and get it. The rooms are secluded and fairly soundproof.

Of course, you do get freelancers who just shove advertisements in the Newspaper. They can be house delivery too.

But are "gentlemen" clubs and such banned in the USA too?

I am not going to deny that we do get problems, but they are universal ones, and occur in the case of people breaking the law. Of course, there are underaged freelancers, but pimps can get into a lot of hot water if they employ underaged women.

 

I really just don't think prostitution should be legalized. It simply doesn't seem right to me. All I can think of are disadvantages to it. I don't see any advantages to prostitution.

 

No because it only causes pain and sadness. I know you all say that they should have the choice, but people are too stupid to do the smart thing.
It is only for their protection.

I can think of two, they could tax it, and bring in money for the government, and also if it's more organized, people wouldn't be so nervous about it and maybe take better precaution.

and as for gentlemen clubs, do you mean strip clubs? they aren't banned in the US but people don't want them near residential areas.


and for age restrictions i think i found a good reason to have one, i actually think there needs to be one to prevent child exploitation. i mean, if they are the legal age to work fine but i dont' think that teens shoudl participate in the business until then.

Maybe, but the problem wit that is that sex would sell so fast that the government wouldn't be able to tax it accurately. If that weren't the case, then it would've been already.

 

So strippers are legal, but prostitutes aren't.

I think I have a decent argument here.

In my opinion, if we are allowed to sell ourselves as eye candy, we have already approved selling our bodies. A child would get just as scarred from the strip club as he would from finding out his mother spends time in a hotel room. It would cause as much "Pain and sadness" as prostitution.

Also, everyone here is acting like they've never heard of a condom. This isn't the '50s. We have protection. You don't get STDs unless you forget to use one.

Also, pimps do not beat up prostitutes. If that happened, there would not be very good business. Pimps need prostitutes. Prostitutes don't need pimps, it just makes life easier for them.

Now I think we just have a gag reflex here. We discuss selling sex, and suddenly everyone is angry and refusing it. Now let's discuss training people with weapons to go and invade other countries and kill people there. America does this daily, but refuses to let people sell themselves. Hypocrites.

 

Pimps and brothels are illegal in the UK. Prostitutes (I think) are only allowed to work alone and if the authorities think that two or more are joining forces it is defined as a brothel. Curb crawling is illegal too I think, not sure how you are supposed to hire their services though xD
