Should people require a liscense to buy and carry a knife?

I've noticed a rise in knife related violence, and was wondering whether people should require a "knife liscense" to carry or purchase the little stabby things.

.......yo, i mean pocket and hunting knives, consealable weapon type knives, not knives you use to eat steak. Though those could kill too.

 

That is true, people are carrying around knives/knife to places. Un suspected, the knife should be used for proper uses (cutting vegtables) But in some areas they should, I'm not sure if some others could accept.

I'm not sure.
I think it need a licence to carry it in certain areas, even if you couldn't have it around, because it's a weapon and u can hurt some1 without wanting it, also himselfs too.
But I really don't know...

 

It depends how big the knife is

 

Maybe we should only sell plastic knives in stores.

 

You shouldn't need a licence to carry a knife.If anything, people would carry them in the Spite of the law and Knife crime would increase.

 

Knife's can't have a licence because people use them everyday in and out of jobs so it would be very complex and wouldn't last long until someone finds a loop hole

 

Finding loop holes is one of my current hobby and Pastime.I've even found a loop hole in my schools dress code and i'm able to give my Principle a heart attack with what i'm wearing.

 

of course not, that would be dumb. knives are more useful than they are harmful. i mean, it would be incredibly annoying to have to cut vegetables with a PLASTIC knife. it would just be too far of an inconveience.

 

Maybe a certain sized knife but only outside of your house. Like you're allowed to have any kind of knife inside of your house but in public places no?

I know knife violence is getting ad but it's kinda stupid for a liscense and I am only saying that because underage people carry them around for protection. And I say underage cuz to have any type of lisecense you need to be a cretain age​

 

I'd say in certain areas cuz i'm sure in candy land Mr. CandyCane ain't gonna pull a knife on ya but in L.A. on the other hand you'd see tiny tim carrying one with him 24/7.

And besides I've gotten in a knife fight except I didn't have a knife (ow) and I think it would be great to have more of a watchful eye on people and what they carry.

 

Yeah, but he means that the people carries the knifes around and u can hurt the others. And the knife is a weapon and to carry a weapon usually we need a permission, but I'm not sure

 

I guess it depends on what kind.
I carry around a pocket knife for stuff I can't open or self-defence.
You never know when you'll need one.

And even the best parts of a city could have a bad person or two in it.
It's sad to say that, but it's life.

 

I don't see a problem with carrying a knife around for self defense, and having a license to do that is redundant because it reduces personal responsibility of the matter.

I mean, this is a small, easily concealed item that should only be used for self defense, technical uses like cutting vegetables, strings, camping, etc..

They are small, and concealable, like pistols. And pistols require a liscense.

plus its used for cuttin stuff not just killin
still, its used for protection as well
when i get a car i'll always have a knife there

i say no, it's not like guns where the purpose of a gun is to actually hurt someone. knives are different, they actually serve more useful purposes than killing people.

 

I completely agree with daxma, lots of people would protest this and start carrying knives everywhere.
