Should marijuana be legalized?

i heard getting high on marijuana is like getting drunk from alcohol except with no hangover, is that true?

No there is is a hangover, called "being burnt", and it's not like alcohol, two different feelings.

 

oh i see. anyways, would it cause an affect that would prompt lawmakers to make a rule to say not to "smoke and drive" just like they have a no drink and driving law for alcohol?

Yes, none of those things are safe. But if we're going to continue with that logic then the air we breathe isn't safe. It isn't a debate about safety because everything in out world has some adverse effect to it. It's about acknowledging whether or not people can be responsible with things like alcohol, and drugs. And like anything there are those that are and those that aren't.

In comparing alcohol and cigarettes to Marijuana, I'd have to say that the legalization of the former have caused more death and discontent in this world than Marijuana every has.

Now lets reassess "psychoactive". Marijuana is a psychoactive to the extent that it stimulates a naturally occurring neurochemical (endocannabinoids) in the brain which in turn results in more relaxed behaviour. If there is any hallucination, or another extreme change in behaviour it's because the weed was laced with something else.

If you really want the truth, think about the last girl you "liked" and evaluate how far things got and think about your behaviour. If you can honestly ( I mean admit whole-****ing-heartly) say that there wasn't something you said or did that made you feel like an idiot or a ******, you are a liar.

well see, i'm still in a relationship and i dont' know your defintion of serious (which is probably something different for everyone btw) and i'm sure everyone has done something ******ed in a relationship but the main point was, women causing it. and the girl has never CAUSED me to do anything ******ed. because you said that women makes ppl act ******ed and no girl has ever CAUSED me to do ******ed things. doing something dumb in a relationship doesn't nessacarily mean the girl caused it is all i'm saying. so yes i have done something ******ed but the girl didn't CAUSE it, she was never the reason for that kind of behavior, i would atttribute that more to myself really. and even if women did cause ppl to act ******ed, it really isn't in the same context as the ******ed behavior from marijuana.

Marijuana definitely needs to be legalized.
All you people are trippin who say it's dangerous to your body.
It really isn't. I used to be an extremely frequent smoker (four days a week before school, during lunch and after work) now just every couple months and it has never done anything dangerous for me except maybe giving me a coughing fit (but that's because of HOW i smoked it).

Medicinal purposes? A lot of them have already been stated, but it even helps the small things. I got to school one day and became extremely sick, i felt like i was going to throw up and had a headache, i could barely walk, i was out of it.

So i went home and my friend hooked me up wit a joint, we smoked it and i felt extremely great while being high, and after i sobered up i still felt good, i wasn't sick at all.
When i fall asleep while i'm high and wake up sober, i feel brand new. Stoned sleep is the best sleep (in my opinion).

It would even help people with eating disorders such as anorexia. The munchies effect gives you an appetite, people could easily gain an apetite.

Of course, people shouldn't drive under the influence (of anything) but it's not as dangerous as you may seem
i've never driven stoned but my friend told me it makes him more alert.
One day five of us piled into one car and the driver was stoned out her mind and she was goin almost 80 on these roads and nothing remotely dangerous happened, but in my opinion that's just the way it affects them. It could affect other people in more ways.

No one has ever overdosed from weed unless it was laced with something and if the government legalizes it and grows it themselves then we know it
won't be laced (unless you're into conspiracies)

The worst thing that has ever happened to me was i was stoned and my friend just bashed me in the leg wit a rockstar can and i didn't feel it (i can never feel my legs when i'm high, my first time i took off running and couldn't stop) after i sobered up my leg was hurtin and bruised.

Alcohol and cigs are worse, they can actually kill you.
Even if it was just for people over 18 or 21, i'd rather get in trouble for underage smoking rather than possesion of illegal substance.

No smoking in public or being stoned in public (just like being drunk), buy it over the counter with an ID. And the government would make more money, not just off taxing the weed, but taxing bongs, hookahs, rolling papers, pipes, etc. Building companies to make those? More jobs. Give me one good reason why it shouldn't be legalized, a reason that hasn't already been countered by this post or a previous one.

They are all fairly toxic in their own rights. Actually I never imagined why the Tobacco companies would use so much Benzene (it is very commonly used, but it's enough to turn a cheek, imo). There's tons of alcohols, esters, aldehyde and other pretty not-so-great things in cigarettes. Kids, try not to smoke.

You eat McDonalds, KFC or Pizza Hut and you're doing harm to your body and your health. You're not going to make someone stop eating them. So why should you care if someone wants to pop a pill and get happy for an hour or so?

I binge drink. I've taken ecstasy. I've smoked weed. And I'm incredibly interested in snorting cocaine.

I like having fun, and I don't intend to live forever.

 

It's not fun that people are talking about. There are more ways of having fun then taking drugs and I know it sounds like a cliché but it's true. Drinking is something that can be moderated but in Illegal drugs, every time someone makes the stf it's different. You never know if it's going to be enough to kill you. Cannabis can cause several mental health problems, particularly paranoia, and these things can ruin your life. Also, what happens if you have a bad high. In drugs like LSD, it stays in your system for life. If you have a bad high, at any point in your lafe after that you could start hallucinating again, in the middle of driving across a bridge or in the middle of important work. The only reason that some countries have legalised drugs is because there is a school of thought that says that most people only do drugs because it is illegal and they actually get a bigger high breaking the law than doing the drug.

I think it shouldn't be legal. There are so many safety issues. Not to mention kids are already doing it illegally. Marijuana hurts you more then drinking, because the effect is right away. Not to mention that once you start hallucinating it could hurt you or other people, if you see someone as a danger to you.

 

heck no. no drug of any kind should be legalized in america. i mean who wants to live there life know that there life is being slowly faded away by something that's so easy to avoid. i think people should just stay straight edge ( no drugs no alchool)

 

that would be ideal that people would want to avoid things that killed them like alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes but it's unrealistic to think that everyone would. people do that because they like the pleasure it gives them.
