Should I risk it? (someone help)

Ok my mom asked if I wanted to give away my DS Lite to my sister's kid for a 3DS (she said she'll buy it for me if I do). This would bring up some problems along the way.

Good things
1.I wont have the pressure of saving up and missing out on things because I have a very good chance of getting all three Fatal Frame games for the price of 2 pre-owned games at 2 game stops right now.
2.I will be able to get the Fatal Frame 3DS spin-off when it comes out in April.
3.KH 3D DDD (I know someone is going to ask about it)

Bad things
1.My big brother (my only brother who I respect no matter what) gave me it for my 13th birthday and I am worried he will feel hurt if I just simply give it away
2.I wont be able to play my Pokemon Ruby and Chain of Memories anymore
3.My sister's kids are not careful with hand held systems (my GBA SP that I gave them is beyond repair)

Im pretty much stuck. What should I do? I've already gone through the same thing when I gave away my GBA SP because I am not able to play Pokemon Blue and Silver on my DS but this time its different because my brother game me it as a gift and I treasure those things he gives me. Should I talk to him about it to see how he would feel or say? I still have that talking Agumon he gave me from my 6th or 7th birthday.

I kinda feel like this would fit more in the "Help with life" section. Would someone be kind enough to move it there if you agree its necessary? In a way its both Gaming and Life Help so its up to you :/

 

If I were you, I would keep it. Cause I know how it feels when something is not that important but when it comes to giving it away you can't, because of it's sentimental value. ​

 

Tough choice. My opinion on shooting down your negatives

1. I doubt it. You respect him, but I really don't think he'll be upset if you upgrade to the 3DS. How old is he?

2. Not much of a pokemon fan, so I van't sympathize there. The CoM game though, get the remake and you're good there.

3. That does sound unfortunate. However, it is now her's, and therefore you should really worry too much if you got the newest one right?

1. I don't really think your bro will care much. I mean it is just a video game system and all
2. You could get a cheap GB SP from Gamestop or online. They are really cheap

How much would they go for if I do give it away? How about a Micro? I've always wanted one of those.

 

Accoring to Gamestop.com SPs are 30 and GBAs are 20
