Should I be worried?

About a week ago I got water in my ears, now whenever Iay down I can feel it moving around and sometimes experience a slight pain. Should I be worried? I can honestly say I haven't slept yet today because I fear I may make it worse somehow and if I went deaf I don't know what I'd do... It'd be like losing an ability that helps me enjoy most everything I do.

Have you tried a hot pad to drain it out? If you don't have one, microwaving a towel would do the trick. Then you just lay it down and rest your ear on it. Make sure that side is down though so that it can actually drain out.

That's the one thing I didn't try. I tried the hand vacuum, tugging on the ear lobe, and even salt water. Still, it's been a week- it'd have naturally fallen out if it were able to. The water went deep and it feels deep. Almost like it's behind my ear. Would a hot pad still help?

I would at least give it a shot. If it doesn't work and you're still this concerned about it, I would recommend going to the doctor. Better to be safe than sorry.

If it's been a week, I would suggest seeing a doctor. They'll probably refer you to an Ear, Nose, Throat specialist if they can't do anything for you themselves.

Your first mistake wasn't tilting your head to the side the ear in question is on and wait for the water to flow out when it happened.

I've had some kind of fluid stuck in my right ear for like half a year now. You'll get used to it.

there are drops you can get to help it dry up or drain out. other than that, just put a towel on your bed and lie down with your bad ear down. it's happened to me on more than one occasion, and if those don't help, just see a doctor.

When I "and even," it implies that was the extreme and I tried everything in between. I actually did immediately take a sleep after that happened and it didn't naturally drain out

I had water stuck in my ear for a month and had to go to the doctor. They gave me stuff for it. But I think I eventually got it out by jumping up and down and running really really fast.

Happened to me a lot when I used to regularly go to the swimming pool I haven't been to in forever. I just got out and jumped while pointing the ear with water in it toward the ground.

try flushing it out with more water

no but seriously maybe see a doctor or consult someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
    hope you'll be okay

Lost balance and obtained random dizziness. This is probably an inner ear thing so I'm going to the doctor tomorrow.

Whoever mentioned the heating pad/microwaved towel- didn't help but thank you for introducing me to a new level of blissful comfort
