Because there are so many other reasons to put a video on the internet for a public audience
it's still the best option you've got. most options can't even get a decent video player going

When you're putting stuff on the internet for the express purpose of having it seen by other people, you'd be crazy to care about anything else..

Vimeo manged to get a better video player than Youtube's out.

My point was the people diving in head first solely caring about the attention/money from the get go are doomed to fail, heck most people aren't going to make it anyways. Doing it because you enjoy making videos / trying to entertain people for the fun of it is kind of a thing too.

Actually, doing it just for the money and stuff is pretty easy, because there are dirty tricks you cna use if that's all you care about
Doing what you enjoy is all well and good, but unfortunately that often means nobody will see that, and that's a huge shame
Like I bet not many people have subbed to Itsadogandgame yet, even though they REALLY should

In case you haven't noticed the blatantly obvious hints, I know how YouTube works. I used to upload all the time and gained mild success. So when people talk about capture cards, streaming, and all the jazz I talk about it like I know it....because I know it.

Doing YouTube when all you care about is money often leads to nobody watching, etc. I hate to sound rude here but countless people think "oh hey I'll buy a capture card, or stream or something" and people will just inherently watch. That isn't at all how it works. You have to actually be entertaining, and mass amounts of people aren't going to just find your (by your i don't necessarily mean you specifically) out of nowhere. There is networking, knowing how to properly tag your videos, knowing if the game you are using as a backdrop is even popular or not, etc.

This is why you can find LP channels with views on their individual videos spanning from like 10-200 (random number). If you are pulling numbers that small you won't make much money at all. That's another thing, when someone does something specifically JUST for the money, people can see right through that. Very rarely will someone only care about the money and actually provide entertaining and well-polished content.

Doing youtube for the explicit purposes of making a lot of money is moronic, ad revenue pays terrible. But you always put things out to the public because you want people see it unless you have a poor concept of how the internet works.
On the money making thing, you can't get a capture card and expect money, but if ALL you care about is money you can be a manipulative dick and get quite a bit of fame or at least infamy. You need some understanding about lowest common denominator, but honestly not caring about standards is a fast path to that anyways
