Shadowville, a town where criminals walk the streets, where worried mothers can only hope that their children won't get taken, a town where the police are either too lazy or too fat to do anything too help. The name was changed to scare off tourists or house buyers so they wouldn't fall into this despair. Children still go to school, hoping that they won't be scared anymore.

Jordyn walked on the sidewalk, keeping her hood up. The streets seemed much more different everyday she left the house for school, and on the way back after dark. But she never really cared anymore. No one cared for her, so she didn't know what it was like. She felt the rain hit her on her way up the hill. It was hard to tell she was crying, as most of the rain wiped away her salty tears in place of the clear freshwater rain.

bic: Nate leaned on the tree and looked at the passing people skeptically

She cursed herself for not bringing a jacket as the rain started to hit her. She tried to run to a shelter, but their were already 4 tough looking boys underneath and surely she didn't want to be in a hospital so she kept running, but in a different direction

 

Nate saw the girl running and looking for something to hide under so he quickly caught her eye and motioned with his head to follow him.

 

Jordyn finally made it to the top of the hill, out of breath almost. She looked around and saw how horrible the streets were. The rain felt nice against her warm face> Crying overheated her face somehow and she felt even more better. Though she felt something not right. She felt trouble in the air. Call it instinct, but it was something.

She kept running, her face going pale in the cold, she turned around to see a boy staring at her, but she kept going

Nate just shrugged and trudged through the mud that was now building up from the rain and he walked down to the broken down chruch that was obviously abndonded for a reason. when he walked into the familiar church he sat down at the bench and layed his head down on the back of the chair and began to sleep...
