::Shadows of a Distant Memory::

Sora looked down in grief. This was sad news indeed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you..." he said in a low tone.

He suddenly looked back up, aghast.

"Wait a minute, did you just say that you saw a heart rise in the air? A-and shadows?" he interrogated.

 

"It's....okay..." she replied to his first statement.She looked up as he said 'Wait a minute'.She stepped a little closer,getting a clearer view of the boy.His spikey hair reminded her of...her childhood luff.She thought that,now...maybe it /was/ him.

"Y...eah....I did." she replied.

"Why?"

 

"Why? Those shadows are heartless. If they attacked this place....then that means this world is in danger!" he exclaimed in a solicious tone.

Sora walked towards her in a hurry.

"Ok. Do you have a weapon to defend yourself with? Oh, and do you know where this worlds Keyhole is?" he questioned again and again.

 

"'Heartless'?" she repeated,curious. She blinked,being confused with all these questions.

"N-No,I don't...everything was burned down." she replied to his first question.

"Keyhole?What?" she asked,confused.

"The Shadows are all gone.I saw them all vanish from inside my burning house.I looked out the window.They just all..disappeared.And that was before I passed out." she explained.The Heartless....were gone.

 

"Yeah, for now...." he said.

Sora shook his head and tried his questions again.

"I mean a keyhole. A huge hole somewhere the shape of a keyhole. Haven't you seen one?" he asked again.

He couldn't help but feel as if something bad was about to happen.

 

She shook her head slowly.Then remembered something.

"Oh.I never caught your name.Who are you?" she asked.

'It might be him...We just have to see...' she thought.

 

He sighed and scratched his head.

"Oh well..."

"Oh, right. I'm Sora." he replied.

 

'Sora?' she thought,the name ringing like a bell in her mind.

'It's him!It is!' she thought happily. She ran towards him,the little distance they already had between them.And embraced him,her arms wrapping around him tightly.Not wanting to let go.

"Sora...I missed you.." she said softly.Close to tears.She had to leave him and Riku seven years ago,for her parents had died and she had nobody to live with.

 

Almost immediatly, after his reply, he was embraced with a hug. It fet ackward seeing as he didn't even know the girl. Sora blushed a bit. How would Kairi react if she saw an unknown girl hugging him.

"Umm...why are you hugging me?" he asked as he gently tried to pull away.

 

She gasped silently to herself,seeing as it seemed he didn't remember her.Her eyes closed.

"I'm sorry...." she said softly,and slowly let go.Her eyes opened half-way,looking down at the ground.

"I guess...I have the wrong person..." she said.She felt ashamed now.She was so sure...

 

He saw a bit of disappointment in her eyes. Mostly sadness.

"Uh no need to be sorry. You just....uh.....caught me off guard. That's all." he said trying to cheer her up.

He needed to find a way of the world he was in. Before that, he needed to find the keyhole first.

 

"..........." she remained silent.For a few moments,anyway.

"So...you're looking for this town's 'Keyhole'?" she asked softly.She remained still for a little,before barely moving her foot to kick a rock.It bounced across the ground and hit a larger rock by a nearby building,the rock was more of a boulder.There was the lighted shape of a Keyhole on it.

She had discovered that Keyhole sometime ago,shortly after arriving to this town when she was eight.Nobody believed her when she said she found 'a glowing hole on a rock'.

 

Sora followed the moving rock until it hit a large boulder. He couldn't believe his eyes. Embeded on the boulder was the keyhole.

"Wha- How did you do that?" he asked.

He ran up to the boulder and inspected it. It was the real deal.

"Wow! I didn't think we'd find it so quickly! Thanks....umm..." he stuttered.

He turned around and looked at her.

"Sada, right...?" he asked.

 

It was hard to explain how she did it,so she didn't tell him.Her head nodded slowly and slightly at his question.

"Sora...." she said,wanting to ask him something.

 

Sora was about to summon his keyblade when Sada said his name.

"Yeah...?" he replied as he faced her.

 

"Yeah...?" he replied as he faced her.

".....Is it true.." she began.Before looking up at him.

"...That you are from an Island?Very far away..."

 

Sora was surprised.

"Yeah. How do you know..?" he asked again.

Things were about to get a whole lot interesting.

 

'It is him....' she thought.

"Because...." she took a step towards him.

"I am,too.I remember you.You,me,and Riku...we'd always play together." she said,smiling weakly.She didn't know Kairi.She and her sister had to move away before they could meet her.

 

Sora was shocked. Almost like lightning striking him.

"What..? How do you know Riku? " he asked.

 

She looked down,but her eyes remained on Sora.

"I just told you....I was on the Island,too..."
