My question is actually an off-topic, what do you hope to gain by debating this? The only SOLID proof lies in a government this thread starter does not even believe in! What good can come out of this conspiracy theory? Nothing. I swear it sounds more like some petty excuse to wail on a pesident who's about to have his term expire.

Back on topic now. I don't believe the government would ever do this event. What could they possibly gain by killing its own people and own GOVERNMENT WORKERS. There is nothing to gain from attacking itself, killing thousands for no point. And the only thing "positive" the country has POSSIBLY gained from this event is tighter airplane security and a had, in that year (2001) brought the country together just a LITTLE closer.

Now we're fighting each other over an invisible conspiracy theory that has, at best, practically no logic.

Let? That plane was the one going towards the White House. Maybe you should do more research. And hey I was just saying that in the middle of our debate you just left. And well I had to get off the forums then.

I know it's just this issue really gets me mad. I'm fine on other things but 9/11 conspiracies theorists just really get me mad. But back on topic. The US government had no part in planning the 9/11 attacks.
It gets boring when I'm the only one here.

On any other day, Planes can get there in 8 seconds >.>
    Not on 9/11, though!
Chaney gave the order to not shoot, or to stop the plane, either.

I read the first few pages, and grew utterly confused of this topic, because I have no idea what happened on September 11th, was it a plane crash? Cause that's what it sounds like.

I think that everyone should stop being so bloody paranoid for once. It happened and was extremely tragic. I was almost in it, I flew to and from New York in the months leading up to 9/11.

But it was in the past, people need to move on. Dragging this topic up every so often doesn't help anyone, it causes pain to those affected and doesn't help you in any way.

There is a difference between 'conspiracy' and 'incompetance'. I believe the latter is far more likely, considering the adminsitration we are talking about here. If they were responsible they are already hated so bringing this up won't do anything.

If (and I am pretty sure it was) it was Al Queda, well that doesn't really change anything then, we still want all the terrorists dead.

EDIT: Xaldin, seriously watch the news once in a while. Do you know about 7/7?

Topics like these are created so people can discuss their thoughts on things like that. It's actually needed if you don't feel like talking to anyone IRL about it.
It's just normal to discuss thoughts and different views of it.
This isn't the subject with serious thoughts that you just 'push under a rock' to put it that way.

I wouldn't think Osama a genius really. What genius makes tapes about everything they do and allows their generals to be captured? In my opinion, the whole religious extremism that's being seen a lot lately has dumbed terrorism down-- but I guess in a way that's not so bad.

Xenophobia refers to the fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign. It's not like all of America has it bad, but people down South are a lot more suspicious than they've ever been.

And K a i r i, yes what you do say is true but when the same stories are just tossed back and forth it just becomes meaningless in the end.

That is possibly the most sad and disturbing thing I have read on this forum.

And if you want my honest opinion, Bush is a bad president. Awful, in fact. But I do believe that it was terrorists who attacked the Unites States. Bush would have no reason to do such a thing to our country.

    Also, Xaldin:

Dude, it's one of the most horrific days in the United States' history. I can't believe you don't know what it is. It's almost sickening. The whole world knows about this. Just watching the video can give you a small taste of the horror of that day.

The truth of 9/11 is that Bush did it and blamed it on Saddam Hussein, then they could gain more power and have a War with Iraq but it's pretty much a disaster right now, anway I think Bush caused it.

That is just a conspiracy theory. There are conspiracy theories for everything like that Princess Diana's death was caused because of Prince Charles. >_>

And second, the blame was on Osama not Hussein and we all know and it's fact it was caused by his terrorist group.

Are you kidding? Not once did Bush say that he believed Saddam was involved in planning 9/11. Bush could never have done something like this. Osama is a genius because he's making all those videos and not getting caught. And we helped his cause so they (Afghanistan) could be free of Russia. Then when Russia was gone that left room for the Al Queda to come in and grow. And who was President at this time? Jimmy Carter. So really if it weren't for the US help against the then USSR maybe Afghanistan wouldn't have been able to fight them off. So really if you're gonna start blaming Presidents start with Carter. But really Clinton's administration is more to blame than other administration. They knew about so many things these terrorists were doing. They even had a chance to kill Osama. They passed up on so many chances to stop the 9/11 attacks from happening. It was extremely lazy of Clinton to leave this burden on the new President. With the disputed elections the past year and then this terrorist attack our country didn't seem too bright. But along with darkness comes the light. The entire nation's patriotism was the most I've ever seen. It was amazing. The terrorists did this to destroy our morale and to make us panic. But we didn't hide away in a corner no. We stood up for freedom and we got Afghanistan freed of their terrible leaders and helped them to choose their fair and just leaders. The terrorists threatened to kill people who were voting. Terrorists do that all the time. They have nothing but the fear of their enemies. And What fuels them even more is when they see the US citizens are doubting their government. Our government is strong and just. They protect their people not eliminate them. They make sure their country is safe as well as others. The next person to undermine our great system of government better not be a US citizen. I say love it or leave it. We don't need people here who hate America. Thank you for listening and God bless America and all of you.

Yes he didn't want the planes to be shot at but if you think about it there is good reason for that. One you still kill all the people on the plane. And second if you shoot it down it crashes and kill people on the ground or shrapnel from the plane hits people on the ground. So either way shooting or not shooting the casualties would've been bad.

Okay. Why would a President cause the death of over THREE THOUSAND PEOPLE?
Did anyone else notice that, on 9/11, President Bush held the nation together? Seriously! I don't want to get into politics and whatnot, but do you think an American President would intentionally kill 3,000 people?
True, he didn't shoot down the planes, and doing that may have saved lives, but what if the passengers rebelled, like the brave people that went down in the field? There's a possibility that those planes could have landed as well, if there happened to be a passenger trained as a pilot.
And besides, the attacks were linked to Osama's group.

Anyway, if any good came out of 9/11, it's that as a country, we have a much stronger sense of patriotism.
For example, Yellowcard did a very nice song (Believe) honoring the firefighters. I know a lot of other singers also paid tribute to the victims.

Personally, though, I don't think the governement would do something that horrible.

I'm so happy you posted here. You've just explained everything I've been saying but maybe people will listen to you. I mean there never is was or will be anything to prove Bush did this because he didn't. So for those of you who hate America the terrorists have done what they tried to do. Put doubt and fear in American's minds.
EDIT: I'm off to lunch now

Exactly. Terrorists live and exist for the sole reason of causing fear in people's hearts and minds.
And granted I don't agree with the new Immigration Act, but I think after leading our country through such hard times, President Bush deserves praise.
He's a human, so naturally he'll have flaws.

I don't believe Bush did it, but I have a very valid reason as to why: oil. Iraq has oil. We blame it on Iraq. We attack Iraq and win it, and now we have the oil.

Um, Roxas? Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks.
    Osama = Afganistan.
    Saddam = Iraq.

I don't think Bush had anything to do with it. I don't think he would deliberately attack his own country.

The terrorists already attack the Towers way back in 1993, i guess they simply wanted to succed by creating a better plan at causing chaos & destruction. I mean that's what terrorists do.
