Semi-serious topic here

Looking on the closed thread about Gay KH Characters, I've seen so many people just outright acting like it's the end of the world when someone says someone is gay and it just doesn't make sense to me. The fact that so many people on here seem to be so unaccepting of gay people is starting to make me feel really uncomfortable and almost unwelcome. I realize that the topic was not aimed at real gay people, but that's still how it felt to me.

I'm not saying that you all are wrong in defending your favorite characters; I'm all for you saying that a fictional character cannot be catagorized as gay merely on the fact that, oh, he has pink hair or oh, he cared more for his guy friend's appearance than his girl friend's. I'm just saying that, to me, it makes it seem like everyone here is just so anti-gay, which makes me, as a girl who likes other girls, feel unwelcome.

It might just be my own insecurities. I'm sure y'all are wonderful people, I'm just...feeling uncomfortable.

 

No, you're kinda right. I've noticed this as well :/ The fact that a lot of the people here are so unaccepting of a KH character being gay for another is for the sole reason that they themselves think homosexuality is WRONG. So yeah, they're homophobic it would seem.

I'm not saying this goes for all memebers, because you do have some who are mature on the matter and really are excepting of homosexuality. But I think it's the more younger kids around here who are so "OMG NOES TEH GAY!!! *BASH*"

I have noticed that it seems to be the younger members and not the older ones, which is a bit of a comfort, but at the same time, it makes me feel like I shouldn't be here. I don't want to quit the forums, but it just really does not make me feel like I should be around.

Dude, don't quit the forums. Personally, I don't believe any KH characters are gay for each other but there's nothing wrong with talking about it and don't let little kids who don't know what they're talking about make you think otherwise.

Seriously it's alright - don't go anywhere! The only gay!bashing that happens in this forums is regarding KH, they never take out their homophobic crap on the members over here. In anycase homobashing is a big no-no, seeing as how all those threads get locked up within the minute it's created.

I haven't seen anyone acting like this but I can understand why you would feel uncomfortable if you saw a topic like that. Some people take the game a bit too seriously. Ignore them.

 

I try. Honestly I do. Sometimes though, that "zero self-esteem" thing comes back and haunts me, making it hard to ignore things like that.

 

Some people just are a bit intolerant. There are an awful lot of people here though that don't think like the minority and have no problems with gay characters.

I was a bit nervous at first as I am older than probably everyone here and I thought I wouldn't be accepted. Stupid of me as most people here are really cool and see the person not the label.

 

Some people just lack maturity to realize there's a person behind the computer. And yes they do take the game too seriously.

I agree with Zekushion fully. Just because someone thinks something, doesn't mean it's correct or it has to affect your opinion.

Remember kids, Kingdom Hearts has no canon pairing, therefore, there's alot of fighting over them. But hey, it's fictional, what's there to fight about? :3

In fact... the only reason why I don't want Axel to be gay is because I want him to be able to love ME. XD

i think it's ok to be gay/lesbian. that's just how some people are. but a lot of people take it to the next level and get freaked out and make it a huge deal. they take it too far with the KH characters too. they're wrong and they should accept people the way they are. don't feel unaccepted, kay? i definitely accept you!
