This is horrible news. Everyone from the North American QA department has been laid off. Here's a little piece of advice, people that fired them: Don't do that! Of notable importance is Kate Bryant, more known as Kate Burning, who joined SEGA Forum on October 19, 2011, who was also one of the people laid off. I feel bad for those people. Losing a job is never fun. Even if Europe is going to take over QA, that's not going to help much. If you have to get rid of the people who make sure your product is acceptable, then you might as well just close up shop.
We can always fall back on playing the classic sega games, like Sonic ^_^ I got an emulator, sega forever. Anyway, they need to be careful about which games they cut. If they cut the wrong ones, like libregkd said in a way, there will be an even major-er drop in their sales. What happened to the good old days when the gaming industry was so big they could make crappy games that no one bought . . . oh wait.
Oh my,I feel sorry for those people who lost their jobs. And the fact they are cancelling titles makes me very sad. Very sad indeed. At least I have Sonic though.
As much as I dislike SEGA, layoffs are never a good thing. Hopefully the people laid off can find work elsewhere, though it may be difficult. :/
As long as I have my Sonic I'm content, but the jobs and the titles being cut like that......it's a big slap to the face to the customers that enjoyed their favorite titles. The gaming industry seems to be changing, it's like lately things have been getting worse, good games are being milked, people are losing their jobs which will have an impact on the games. It's just absolute chaos.
Just an update here, and, unfortunately, it's more bad news. The SEGA of Europe community team has been disbanded. Source: Sonic Stadium Publication Date: 4/12/2012
