Security Problems

My computer just randomly says that I have unprotected files and tells me to fix it, but after I do it happens sometime later again. Anybody got any suggestions?

 

I would run a virus scan either with mcafee or norton and make sure to clear your temporay files. They should be done every month at least. If that doesn't work, try turning off your computer, waiting a minute and then turn on the computer.

Zonealarm is your friend.
Malwarebytes antimalware is your friend.
Spybot S&D is your friend.
Norton is not your friend.
Tune up utilities 2009 is your friend.
Registry mechanic is your friend.
Registry First aid is your friend.
RegVac registry cleaner is your friend.
System mechanic is your friend.

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure what was causing the problem but I was able to fix it for good.

 

I hate zonealarm (Because i dont know how to use it, it always blocks all my internet connections)

 

Yeah zonealarm is a pain in the a$$ at first when you don't know how to use it, but after you get the hang of it then you know the true meaning of safety.

 

those are two of the worst antivirus progs out there...why would you suggest them? lol.


use AVG, its got an easy UI, and one of the better definition libraries out there, and is free.


Avast is decent, AVG is better.

Spybot Search & Destroy is epicwin

NEVER EVER use Norton, or McAffe 90% of the time the detect non-viral programs(like MMORPGs) to be viruses and give off false alerts.

 

Yeah spybot sd is really good and its free too! :D

 

I hated McAfee, and in fact it was the whole reason for a lot of my problems.
