"Lets get going then." Casey smiled.

 

she smiled back,then it faded,this trip wasnt really nessacary...she already knew what was 'wrong',she was merely going to confirm it,she'd have to tell Casey...today.

 

"How we getting there?" Casey asked.

 

"Driving."she said getting the keys,as she passed she said"I need to tell you something."

 

"You do, do you?" Casey asked.

 

she nodded,fringe and pony tail bobing"Yes...but where people who shouldnt hear cant."she said,she looked around,"go out into the back graden for a mintue."

 

"Can't you tell me it on the way there?"

 

"Whatever you prefer."she said,she reached to take Cory from him"You have to stay."


"I wanna come..."

 

Casey carefully handed the boy over. "I think the car would be more time effective to be honest."

 

she nodded,Cory clung to her leg once he was on his feet,almost yelling 'i wanna go!' "Tell you what Cory"Lyra said kneeling to be eye level with him"If you be good,we can go to the park and I'll get you a ice-cream...we can take your bike..."she said in a sing-song way


"Ooooh....uh....ok!"then his eyes suddenly narrowed"Promise?"

"I promise"Lyra laughed

 

"You're a stubborn little one, aren't you?" Casey chuckled, Cory reminded him so much of Lyra at times. The moodswings, the strength of will. It was quite amazing at times.

 

"Uncle Jordy says that too....he says Im like mummy and grandma."

"well...Bye Cory,see you when we get back ok sweetie"she said kissing the tip of his hair,she smiled at Casey again

 

"See ya Cory." Casey grinned as he opened the front door and stepped out.

 

Lyra followed him out,suddenly nervous,why am I even nervous....I've seen how he is with Cory.... she thought

 

"You gonna open the car seeing as you have the keys?"

 

"Huh?"she said"Oh...right."she opened the car,climbing inside,biting her lip

 

Casey climbed into the other side of the car and shut the door behind him.

 

"Casey...this may sound stupid...but you like children dont you?"
