Help Search Loading Fails

I originally brought this up in this thread on December 27, 2012 (second to last post), but I figured I'd make a separate thread for it.

When I go to search for something, such as all threads I've started in The Spam Zone and click Search, it sits there for a while and then stops loading. I then click Search again and it instantly goes to the search results page. However, I sometimes won't get the results until the third or fourth time trying.

Any ideas?

 

So I tested this out to see what you mean, and although I could not tell you a solution to the problem, it happened to me too.

I think what happens is that it searches for all the threads and then after it has found most/all of them, the search stops, but forgets to display(due to some code error maybe?). Which is why when you click it the second(or 3rd or 4th time) it displays it quickly because it has found all the threads but forgot to display?

I really do not know, this is just me throwing what I think the error could be, but I am no expert... at all...

 

Any input from staff available?

 

I definitely understand if staff is busy, but I'm just wondering if this was seen by staff. :)

Seeing as it's instant on XenForo Community, it tells me it's definitely an issue with KH-Vids' server or something.

 

The built in search isn't great for larger boards. The Xenforo community uses the enhanced search add-on, which drastically speeds up load times for large boards. At the moment we have no plans to purchase it, nor am I sure our server has the requirements for it. We may in the future but it's not on the table right now.

Okay, so I'm trying to find an old thread of mine in The Spam Zone, but the search isn't working -- like, at all. Usually, I have to try a couple or few times, but I just tried 10+ times with no luck.

Any ideas?

 

@Misty: I'm still completely unable to search, so I guess it's safe to assume you're aware of this?

Sorry if I'm coming off as a pest. I'm not trying to, I'm just curious as to what's going on.
