.____. This.. is.. surprisingly good. :x Lol the sythe is kickass but I think you need to work on your people. I can't really give you any cnc because well I suck at drawing bodies so... yup. (: I like lots.
I think it is pretty good except he looks a little skinny maybe make him a little fatter xD and he needs mussles his arms just look like lines but other than that it is really good.
People are definitely my weakness, well, of the few things I can draw even a little bit anyways. He's an androgynous type so muscles aren't exactly my top priority here. It's rather hard to draw thin people and make them look correct, especially if you're me and have no skills.
wow....i was also drawing your characters out of boredom. and i love the scythe.....i can never quite pull the weapons off but, im pretty good at drawing curvy bodies, but he looks too skinny...inhuman skinny. just beef him up a bit.....and his face needs better eyes....he looks confused . but the hair and the scythe are amazing.
I drew this and many other things before I started work on the written portion actually. I fail epically at faces, if you see anything else that I've done you'd all realize this. I try sometimes to fix this but I care more about weapon design aspects than anything else. The thinness that you all seem to notice is a stylistic call on my part. I don't draw for accuracy, I go for simplicity and ease of drawing when I make people or anything. It's just a stylized person, not unlike the over muscular cartoons of the Sates or incredibly girly bishonen of Japan. If this is really such an unnatural or bad looking thing I'll try to work on it.
Dude, the style itself is just rad - I'd kill to be able to draw as simplisticly like you are doing. <3 Though it's easy to bork up on the anatomy if you forget to keep in mind the basic build up of a human body. In your case, mostly you ended up either making the neck/shoulder area too tall/slimish. The propotions are close enough to the real thing, just those tiiiiiny details that adds the round shapes of the bodyparts, you know? If there's something that you should concentrate about it's to avoid making the arm looking like a straight line - it's a tricky part of the body, but always remember the joints that are there no matter how stiff and wide spaced the clothes may be. If I were to give you suggestion, let the simplicity style be on a break for now. Try out something new, work on some random sketches where you use guidelines for the body, orbs for the joints etc. You may know what I'm talking about, if not you should take a look at the tutorial sticky regarding basic human anatomy. Why should you do this? You'll end up being aware of how the body works, even a tall and slim one. So the next time you go for the simplistic style your conscience will have more knowledge as you draw the figure. It's always smart to learn new things to add to your style. :3
Well, I actually left behind realistic bone, joint and muscle structure long ago because it was tedious, laziness strikes again. That aside I appreciate the comments that have been left here. I'll be a bit more careful with structure in the future, can't say I'll improve though because I never spend more than ten minutes or so on anything.
Gurl this is really good. It's just the hand, and a few details that need help. For like the clothing and stuff. But I love the hair, and the Scythe. I like the way you positioned the body also. This is really good... xDD
Actually its pretty cool. I like the way you designed that scythe with those chains and lock right thar... and it looks like sword man is on the back..that looks cool too XD the only criticism I have is that scythe man looks a little like a girl with the long hair.
@DemonDays: Sword girl actually it's not cool and thus why I never posted it. Seems that there's been a fair reception of the picture so I'll add another sketch I drew around the same time, because it'd be a waste of time to create a separate thread. Remember to always take note that I can't draw, never could never will.
oh, but thats really nice. what are you using to draw these, i actually want something like it to be able to draw some concept art. i like your concept art, it looks really well made, aside from the fact that you say youre lazy. and in the back...is that the girl with the pole that extends....? oh yeah, i can see her, i like how you made her figure. this is nice.
I use normal mechanical pencils and printer paper to draw these to answer the question. On the back of the page there is another sketch set and yeah, you know what it is. I should actually edit out the bled through pictures but I'm not.
