    I like uniforms.

I'm not very fashionable, and I don't have enough clothes to wear something different every single day XD I don't like going shopping, either. Something bad happens to me every time (I see a classmate, I faint and they have to call the ambulance, something like that)

I think there should be a variety of what the clothes look like though (agh I don't know how to explain it >_<). When I was in elementary/public school we had uniform, but there were different types. Like different sweaters, skirts, pants, and shirts. At my newer-ish private school (well not really new, I've been here for a few years lol), theres only one type of everything. One type of sweater (actually 3 types, but thats only if its your last year at the school or your on a sports team), one type of skirt/pants, and if you're dressed wrong they make you wear something from the lost and found. T_T

I don't think every school should have uniforms, though. That's be boring.

lol, the complaining about having to wear uniforms and thinking they are bad is a bit spoilt of you. XD

We in the UK don't have a choice. Some of you that complain about it have you ever had to wear one before? (mainly talking to the Americans) They aren't all as bad as you seem the make them. To me it helps divide up school and well outside of school. It was easy to get dressed in the morning, just put on the trousers, tie, blazer and then some smart shoes. Of course it didn't stop social group differences. (chavs, geeks etc)

It also made going to Sixth form all the more exciting as there wasn't a uniform, of course there was a dress code.

Uniform and tight dress code is going to happen in the world of work. An office job requires a suit (which is similar to my old school uniform) other jobs have only one type of clothes you can wear. I guess it's all down to the culture. In Japan people are proud to wear their uniform, while in the US it's more relaxed. While in others it's a must to wear uniform at school.

If you have to wear one from the get go, it just becomes the norm and you get used to it. If you change from the causal wear to uniform of course it's going to seem bad.

Wearing a uniform in school, not the greatest thing in the world. Is it as bad as people make it out to be? No.

I don't know why some people make a big deal out of it. Yes, sometimes preparing your uniform is a bit time-consuming and expensive but I personally feel a bit proud to walk around in a clean, good-looking uniform on a Monday morning. It also relates to the way people would view you as well. As many of you would know, in the real world, you are mostly judged by your looks. Whilst depending on the actual job, you wouldn't go to a interview or a meeting wearing a loose t-shirt and jeans.

Just accept it and wear it, no matter how silly you look. Besides, women love a man in uniform xD

girls had to wear a grey shirt, white undershirt, and a green mini skirt

i really didn't care if we had uniforms or not, its not as bad as people make it seem
only thing i didn't like was me paying for it =P

Even though people hate wearing uniforms... it is better to actually have them. I mean if you can't afford new clothes then you may get teased for being poor, or for being unstylish. Wearing uniforms also can help against wagging. I mean you walk out of the school withyour regular clothes and people see you.. will they think you were wagging, or you had been given a day off. They may also help against crime, like if someone went missing, someone could easily tell the police which school they went to and may be able to track her easier as it gives a direction of where he or she was going.

I hate mine but its okay... you just have to get over it

meh, it's not as big a deal as people are making it. i've had to wear uniforms from kindergardren to 8th grade. after that in high school, i didn't have to. having to wear uniforms wasn't that bad, i mean you get used to it after a while. then again, i DID enjoy going to school in 12th grade with a shirt that said "FBI Federal Booby Inspector". but i dont' understand why some ppl think uniforms will make people behave better, i mean it's just some clothes. but i DID enjoy not having to wear uniforms so i think maybe the schools should be less strict about the uniforms? becuz when i was in middle school, i felt as if my life was a cartoon because everyone wore the same thing everyday

I had to wear a school uniform only in middle school. It was just something plane:
You had to wear a white colared shirt and blue pants(didn't matter if it was a jean just as long as it was blue)

The only thing I liked about it was that you really don't have to worry about what to wear. When I graduated from middle school some how I felt weird not wearing a colared shirt. But I eventually got used to that.

Now that I'm in high school all I see is a bunch of girls dressing as if I don't want to say it because it might affend someone here.I'll try and put in a nicer way.....its as if they are dressing for a guy to notice them and then lose their verginity. Then with guys I see them dressed as if they are gangsters or something.I feel as if they should put school uniform in my school.I think a couple years ago at my school there was a drive by and a kid got shot because the way he was dressed.

This is my opinion.I am sorry if I affended anyone of what I said.

Some people in my school just dress...bad.

Just not a lot of them, though. There are a few boys that dress really ganstar and all and some girls just dress with flashy clothes that seem to say, "Look! Look how much money I have, enough to afford these cool clothes!" It really isn't that bad to have uniforms. Sorry for all of you people who hated wearing them and were forced to wear them but I never had to wear a school uniform. I don't know how much I would like to... wearing your own clothes is a freedom who expresses who you are. Peppy people wear peppy clothes, gansta people wear gangsta clothes, nerdy people wear nerdy clothes, average people wear a wide variaty of clothes, snobby people wear rich and expensive clothes (not that everyone that owns an Abercrombie shirt or something along those lines is snobbish or anything.) and the list goes on.

School uniforms would give kids one less thing that they can use to bully others. A big part of bullying at my school has to do with clothes. Girls in their cliques will gossip and talk about peoples' clothes and compare it to their own and judge everyone by that. With school uniforms, the people don't have to worry about being made fun of at how they look.

Well in honesty I would rather have everyone wearing a uniform rather then the whores at the school who wear the skimpy outfits.

But it's really not a big deal, I don't go to school to express myself, I go to school to learn.

Hah! I only wish mine were like that. My uniform costs $200 all together, AND, get this, the socks(knee-high) and skirt cut my legs. The material will raw out my legs and when I take a shower or something it hurts like hell and my legs eventually start to bleed.

Uniforms are scientifically proven to make kids do better in school. The other school I totally love their uniform compared to the one I have now. If it ruins your body I don't think it'll help me do better in school. My dad is looking at a transfer to another school for my 8th year, 'cause I wanna go to the QP high school.

But it really depends on you're view on the uniform. Mine makes me depressed like when you shave a dog. They feel they've lost their pride and get depressed. Well, I know its stupid, I'm the same. I have a see through white shirt for the girls, and a navy blue skirt that cut you're legs and knee high socks also that cut your legs, and dark blue dress shoes. I'd take a picture of the cuts to give an example but my step-mom has my camera, I lent it to her when she went to see her daughter in Brazil.

My country.. The students in every school must wear uniforms except some international schools(yet, there are many still have students wear uniforms). I don't mind wearing uniforms. The adults think uniforms make students look in discipline though I still have to say.. there are many students break rules about wearing right uniforms such as pull your shirt out of your skirt or your pants, you don't stick your school booch on your shirt and get your hair dyed in bizarre colour :P.

well, in my case uniforms are pretty expensive we wear two types, the one for PE and the normal one, they both are normal, i really aprove of uniforms ,school shoulnt be a runway, (and believe me ,every kid at my school always wants to look "cool") i on one hand ,are grateful to uniforms ,mostly because i have too much clothing and would have to wash my clothing everyweek just to be not made fun of, ive had to wear uniforms all my life , since its just a polo with the insignia, and the other one is normal, i really dont mind, of course each one cost around 70$ each , and i have to buy like 4 pairs, but i only have to wash half of the mountain of clothes i have,

besides , i dont really care about making a fashion statement in school and i woulnt like to see everyone bragging about their shoes......THEIR SHOES!, and thats only the beggining!

School uniform is pretty much one of several ways to strip individuality from a child and turn him into a obedient, soul-dead conformist member of the American consumer culture.
I'm exgagerating (:D) a bit, you catch my point.
