School shooting at Kauhajoki

I don't usually think like this, but now I'm almost glad that the shooter died. I mean, if he had survived, he would've gotten a 'life-sentence' in prison, or in other words, thanks to the Finnish-legislative system, would spend ten to fifteen years in prison, then be free to possibly f*** up more lives.

 

I heard about this, I think it's awful.

I find suicide to be cowardly and pathetic, but if someone must kill themselves why the hell must they take down other people too?

My thoughts go to those families who have been affected.​

 

Oh man... this is like the Virgina Tech Shooting all over again... that's just awful... :(

 

Did they say if this guy was bullied or anything like that?

 

Actually, he wasn't! Unlike the guy in Jokela...

 

Today's tabloid says that he was bullied in school and in the army, but I didn't hear about it in the news, so don't know how true this is...

 

Yes, I read about it too. And they say that the shooters have a connection.. Well, duh! Same shop, videos, starting fires and bullet to the noggin'.. How's that for connection?
And also their looks.. They do look a bit alike!

This really sucks. Sorry to bump and everything, but I've heard that the reason for this shooting, is partly because the shooters had been bullied and no one took it seriously.
What kind of freaks me out, is that both of the names of the schools, (Jokela and Kauhajoki) have the word 'river' in them. My school is called Linnajoki (Castleriver)...

 

Spree killers are quite annoying. Yes, many have problems with life but they also show an inability to cope with things, take rejection, and deal with the downs of life. Everything is over serious to them and so not only do they have to kill themselves, but wig out and take as many others with them as they can because they are outraged and want to go out with a famous name.

I can feel bad for them in one sense that I wish they would have sought out proper help rather than going this route. Certainly committing yourself to a psyche ward is better than slaying a bunch of people. However, there is no name in it for them. Also, they can't escape out of life and be famous for it. The mentality is just screwed up and very selfish, but their pain is usually pretty real. It just sucks they choose this route and it's quite normal that spree killers die at the sites they decide to make their showdowns at.

My heart goes out to those who have suffered and lost some dear ones in this tragedy.

 

One reason, because they did it was for the fame. The guy at Kauhajoki noticed how much attention Auvinen (Jokela-shooter) had got from the media. Auvinen's face was on the front of every newspaper and newspaper was all about the shooting, for the next week.
The media is incurraging these people to do it!

 

That's just really horrible... i hope my school doesn't have to do that...
