Why remove friend codes for the Wii U but keep them for the 3DS? Might as well take them away from the 3DS too.

I like how you were the first one to comment, Libre.

Anyway, errr, sounds good for the Wii U I guess.

    Updates, galore...

Anyway, Nintendo REALLY should've done this a while ago. It's annoying to use codes when a gamertag will do just fine.

Good, I like this idea. But Retz is right, why keep em for the 3DS? Doesn't make much sense Nintendo, it just doesn't make much sense.

All I can say is "Finally!" Nintendo really should have done this a long time ago.

Now all we need are achievements.

I'm not surprised. If they hadn't of done this Nintendo would've been living in the past. The Wii's friend system was pretty archaic at the time, at least there living in the current times now.

Not a moment too soon either.

Now to regul8/upd8 all the popular games released under the old system. Oh, and the 3DS. Can't forget the 3DS.

This isn't really any guarantee that the online mode will be less terrible in future games, but it's a step in the right direction at least.

No, but it'll make adding friends a hell of a lot easier.

    Now the real question:
Pay for online service or not to pay for online service?

Compare the number of Xbox Live users vs. PSN users, and they'll hopefully see that charging for games on the store is enough.

This is integrating schools; it's not a step forward as much as it is doing something that should have already been done.

Because a lot of kids like the Wii, and them all exchanging codes with each other is uniting them. Not to mention the fact that some schools use the Wii and Kinect (I don't know about the PS Move) for exercise and stuff.

I agree, it should've been done LONG before now, but at least we know Nintendo is keeping up with the times a bit. After all, Mario and Link have been their iconic series' for how long now?

This. It really depends if their making it free or not. Now they just need trophies/achievements and they'll be OK!
